Some buddies of mine who used to get together regularly for 'deep' discussions recently met online through Zoom (similar to Skype but reportedly better). We shared some laughs, some sad moments, and had a really good time. First 45 minutes are free. Highly recommended.

Ditto:
In Oregon, we formed the Beaverton Dull Men's Club. A group of 15 or so guys who've known each other for years, and have been meeting a a coffee shop every Friday. Hard to do now with restrictions on gatherings, businesses open for take-out only, and worse, we are now spread across the country. One member is a professor with a business account. He got that as his University classes will all be online this next semester. Our BDMC has now had a few get togethers online, testing his unlimited Zoom account. It works really well! quality is great too. Works with laptops, desktops tablets and phones. Just need a built in or USB camera and an audio I put. Built-in to almost all digital devices now. And if course you need internet access too. |

I have been Zooming for a while now. It's the greatest to talk to a gang at one time. The Moderator has everyone turn off their microphone and there is a button to push to raise your hand and then he or she picks you when they wish. Just great and easy to use. I have gotten my service for free so far. Piece of cake to sign up.

Our family is spread far and wide. We were supposed to be having a family reunion in Austin Right NOW. Instead we are getting together weekly on Zoom. Personally, I think Discord does a better job, and it has always been free. But our nephew said Zoom, so Zoom it is. The thing I don't like about having 8 adults, five kids, a cat and two dogs together at the same time is everyone ends up interrupting each other, or they don't hear what others say, and it's kind of awkward. Throw into that the the conversational barking. I guess we need a monitor.
So my husband and I continue to Face Time separately with one son and Discord with the other.
