As reported today in the Richmonder, from Richmond VA, Paul Ryan attended a closed door briefing on the upcoming finanacial collapse of several banks getting information from Bernanke on which particular banks were most likely to fail. This meeting occurred on Sept 18, 2008
What did Congressman Ryan do with the information he received? On that same day, he sold the at risk banks and bought banks he was told were safe. Coincidence? This was NOT illegal insider trading in 2008 but as a result of legislation proposed and signed by Obama it would now be a crime. Here was what Ryan had to say in his vote in support of the legislation making insider trading by Congressmen illegal

“Insider trading should never occur and should never be tolerated"

Good thing that Romney's retroactive financial rules don't apply to Mr. Ryan

I'd bet money that before the election there will be allegations of affairs or some sort of sexual harassment leveled at one or both of them.

The libs will be throwing nothing but Hail Mary's for the next three months. The libs can't win in the arena of idea's or truth so they will try and personally destroy anyone in their path to power.

You'll also see the libs move away from Romney and focus on personally recking Ryan.

Thank God we never have had any of the remaining 435 congressmen and 100 senators, their aids, their friends aid, etc etc involved in this sort of behavior even though they viewed insider trading as legal.

was this a one-on-one briefing or were there other members of gov't included? can you identify others who might have been in attendance or any other citizens who made the same trades?

if insider trading was permissible for members of congress, and one has knowledge of impending doom for their investments, is it not the smart trader who exercises their options rather than sits back and sacrifices their investment portfolio?

when did congressman make his statement re insider trading - before or after his trades? apparently this is an instance where obama and others agreed with ryan and did something about it!

i bet the lack of retroactivity it is good for a whole bunch of additional members of congress who just might have acted in the same way as ryan - no?

what would you have done with your portfolioif you were in paul ryan's shoes with the same info and legal ability/right? i know i can say that my mama didn't raise no fool!

is four year old info the best that the libs can come up with? - especially since laws have changed since then - and changed to a policy with which ryan agrees. now if ryan had insider traded AFTER the legislation that makes it a crime to do so - that would be newsworthy!

i loved romney's comment in a campaign appearance yesterday where he challenged obama to take his campaing out of the gutter! like that is gonna happen with axelrod, plouffe, gibbs and wasserman at the top of the chain of command.

No Obama and Company will continue with the mudslinging because they can't run on Obama's record. Not only will he continue I guarantee that as the campaign push on he will stoop even lower. Bain Capital to blame for a women's death and Reids unsubstantiated claims that Romney did not pay taxes for 10 years are typical and yet not as bad as previous attacks Obama/Axelrod , et al leveled on previous competitors.

the positive point here is that the lower he stoops the less likable he will become

First of all, this is NOT a report but a column with conjecture and that old died in the wool oft used, insinuation and implication.

I have no idea of what he did, BUT THEN AGAIN NEITHER DO YOU..

However you found it just fine to post it on here and make an accusation.

I dont do will with unfounded accusations....this is the beginning of lets destroy Ryan day for you folks......great...you cannot nor will not discuss the issues facing the country but you WILL try to destroy people.

I will be honest with you...there was a time in 2008 when I tried to get people to listen to me on our Presidents background and his associations, etc..the phoney land deal in Chicago, etc. BUT....for that I was called a racist and a number of other bad things...

Since then, I am a bit sensitive on this issue. Even though I can show factual not conjecture information on that stuff and you cannot you feel it is ok for you to do this. I think not.

Romney may have said he will not go after Obama in that way, but if you wish we can discuss a sitting President of the United States offering a BRIBE to Rev Wright to keep his mouth shut...a fact confirmed by the secret service......but you just let me know how far you want to go on the character issue. I prefer to discuss what will affect this country my self !
