It does take a nitwit to believe that the Bible is "scientifically and mathematical correct" as was stated a few posts ago. You can see clear evidence in rocks and fossils that the Earth is many millions of years older than the 6,000 years if dated from the Bible.

I believe in the New Testament and all things in it.

That certainly qualifies you to mock others beliefs !

So, in your world, if they don't believe as you, they are nitwits.

Who the hell are you to come on here, or anywhere and call anyone who believes in the bible a "nitwit" ?

Man that takes big ones. Who do you think you are ? You would object strongly if anyone said that about a muslim and their beliefs, and I picked Muslim simply because it seems to be timely.

How can anyone speak of another's religion in that manner ?

You can believe the theory of evolution and still read the Bible if you understand that many of the stories had divine inspiration.

I was referring to calling someone a nitwit.

How does mocking and calling people names who have beliefs different than yours fit into your personal beliefs ?

To me, if you mock someone's religious beliefs, whatever they are, you have not read much with "divine inspiration" nor practice anything close.

Sorry, but I just don't agree with Christian fundamentalists who try to pretend that scientific evidence regarding evolution does not exist. It does not jive with the beliefs of most of the scientific community and academia. I also believe Saddam Hussein did not attack us on 9/11, Elvis is dead, Obama is not a Muslim, climate change is real, and the earth is round.

Absolutely correct. Anyone who believes that the accounts in the Old Testament are "scientifically and mathematical correct" is a nitwit. The Earth is many millions of years older than the approximately 6,000 years measured in the timeline of the Old Testament. Look at the scientific proof of the age of the Earth!

Of course climate change is real. The climate has been in constant change since the earth was formed. One can well imagine Al Gore living during the last ice age. One day he would pop his head up from his ice cave, notice the North American Ice sheets are receding, and say "This is a real problem, we must do something to stop it."

Being a Christian is okay. Being homophobic, racist, or otherwise in the name of christianity or your religion is not okay.

All of what you are saying makes someone who believes in the Old Testament and creativity a "nit wit" HOW ?

And define exactly what is meant by "or otherwise" ??

Is not racist a very relative term...how do you define that, OR do we rely directly on you ?

and on and on.

Prove it. Prove that the Bible is NOT scientifically and mathematically correct. I'm waiting. And please show me a scripture where it says the earth is 6K years old. What the Bible says and how someone interprets it may be different.

I believe in creation, for two reasons. The Bible says so and no one has proven otherwise.

Most intelligent people know that the creationist theory is pure nonsense. And its a waste of time to try to talk logically to these nitwits who believe it, they seem unwilling or unable to understand logic of any kind. The way Carson is dropping in the polls, however, its probably a foregone conclusion that Trump will be the nominee. I certainly hope so. That will certainly guarantee a Democrat in the white house.

Pretty funny. You can't prove evolution, let alone disprove creation as told in the Bible. That's pretty funny. It has nothing to do with logic, unless you consider that scientists have been knocking themselves out trying to disprove the Bible and trying to prove evolution. Problem is that there is no proof of evolution, which by the way is a "theory", not fact.

Gotta love the way you start your comment by saying "Most intelligent people" blah, blah.... You do know that the fact is that MOST Intelligent people believe in GOD and therefore creation. Look at the stats. So, where does that leave you in the equation?

Yes, and you can believe in Creation and read the theory of evolution in Darwin's book. But, you can't be a Christian and believe in evolution because then you would have to believe that Jesus Christ was a liar. Just saying.

This wasn't supposed to be a thread on religion. It was supposed to be on Carson. So liberals, it was very good strategy to divert the subject matter.

Pretty funny. The problem is, studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between higher intelligence and lack of religiosity. The more intelligent a person is, the less likely they are to believe in God. This was based on studies conducted from 1928-2012. That's too bad. Too smart to believe in one's creator. Wonder how that will work out for you when you meet HIM. Kind of like thinking that you are such a good driver that you don't purchase accident insurance.

People that I know personally, that are atheist, seem to be more giving and loving. Those with strong belief in God seem more selfish and hateful toward their fellow man. Believers tend to be aligned with the Old Testament where atheists seem to follow a lifestyle closer to the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament. In my opinion, Muslims follow the Old Testament much better than Christians follow the New Testament.

That's a confusing statement. I've never heard of an atheist that believed in the Old Testament of the Bible. It's not part of the definition of atheist. Perhaps you are confused. And to compare Muslims with Christians following the New Testament is a twist.

Regarding the nature and character of an atheist being a better person than a Christian, I am happy for you. I've never said that a person is evil because they did not believe as I do. I've never heard of anyone claiming that atheists were bad people. But, being a good person doesn't save you.

But the thread is about Carson and his ability to lead our nation. Even though I do not believe he is ready for the job (neither is Obama) I do not disqualify him from my vote due to his religious faith. As a matter of fact, I consider it to be a positive attribute. Of course, if he had a history of being raised in a Muslim environment or attended a hate spewing church, then I would consider that to be a definite liability. I do believe that Carson is a better person to represent us than Obama, Hilary or Sanders, just based on his ideology. But, it's not his religious faith that I use as a disqualifying factor.

If Carson was an atheist, I would probably consider that to be a negative, since I still believe that if one does not believe in a creator, how can one believe in America, or believe in freedom and liberty? But, that's just my opinion and my considerations when I vote. I don't vote for the first of anything, whether the first black man, first woman or first gay. If my candidate fits one of those criteria, then so be it. But, I don't consider being the first makes one the best, or even good for the position in itself.

So, debate your belief/non-belief if you wish, and I will debate the merits of the candidate.

You are entitled to your opinion. I can see how Obama got elected if there are more of the same that think as you do. But, I guess I digress.

Did anyone ever say anything about atheist being BAD people? I'm glad that you met some good atheists. That's nice. I have met some good and bad people that claim to be Christians. Obama claims to be a Christian, even though he doesn't know what a Christian is. His definition as stated in a comment he made, is not the definition of a Christian. So, perhaps you have met some that claim to be something they are not. As far as Muslims following the Old Testament better than Christians following the New Testament, I agree. I have too. But, you do generalize.

However to believe the pyramids of Egypt were grain silos, the Earth is 6,000 years old, and not to believe in evolution is outrageous for a medical doctor.

Really, it is a moot point now. His poll numbers have fallen so steeply there is no chance that he would get the nomination much less the presidency.

I bet you never said anything stupid 30 years ago, right? And I believe that anyone that believe in "evolution is outrageous." Especially, since evolution can not be proven. Evolution has been proved! It is not a theory. Evolution is still occuring!

The age of the Earth has been shown to be around 1.4 billion years. Fossils show proof of evolution. This is science!

I don't know what you mean by 80 percent of the country believe. Is it in God? Is it in the Bible? Evolution? Creationism? Humans walked with dinosaurs?

Sorry to hurt your feelings, but evolution has never been proven. It is just a theory that has atheists beating their heads against the wall for decades. There has never been a fossil proving evolution, so why do you make up these tales? The Bible doesn't specify how old Earth is, so I have no idea why you keep pushing that part.
As far as the comment of 80% of the country believing, I would have thought that you would not have difficulty understanding what was meant. But, I will type slow so that you don't miss anything. Approx. 80% of Americans beleive in GOD. Since there would be no point in evolution if they believe in GOD, then it would be presumed that they believe in God's creation of man. And since you can't find any fossils to prove that man evolved from anything other than man, then man had to come from somewhere. Perhaps you believe Earth was seeded by aliens?

That's interesting, because your religious doctrine does not include evolution. Plus, you must not believe that the Bible is the word of God because you wouldn't try to make a lie of it. The Bible specifically says that God CREATED the heavens and the earth, and then man and woman. But, if you think you can convince anyone of your lies, go for it. I have heard plenty of lies on here. And your messiah in D.C. also lied about being a Christian. If you want his specific words of proof, I will be glad to do the work for you on Google.

So, once again what does this have to do with Carson? We already established the fact that every president has declared his belief in GOD. So, if you are using that as a disqualifier for your vote, I guess you won't be able to vote, unless the socialist is a closet communist. Speaking of Sanders of course. Hilda the witch is a socialist too, but still claims the Democrat label.
