There were a lot of Christian male groups involved in the Temperance Movement too.

They are kind of a stock group to have in many westerns. I saw The Wild Bunch recently and a group of these interfere with the gang's get-away from the botched bank robbery.

Prohibition was a Femo-Fascist Type 2 law failure, like basically all Type 2 laws are.
