Last April the President signed an Executive Order establishing the White House Office of Health Reform (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_...Health-Reform/).

Now, we seem to be heading in blitzkrieg fashion to passage of a Health Care Reform bill with broad authority, oversight, micro-management of health care insurers, and impacts on other-business activities. Once (if?) this bill becomes law, the size of the federal effort to implement this law will involve many thousands of people.

The last time such an executive order happened like this one, it established the Office of Homeland Security. That evolved into a full-fledged Department once the Homeland Security Act passed in 2002. Even though there were other Departments which could have taken over this Office and its responsibilities, a new Department was created, complete with a few hundred new political appointee positions. While there is a current Department of Health and Human Services, the potential of that Department morphing into two Departments (Health AND Human Services) is very real.

So, how many more people will the government hire when the Office of Health Reform expands? Are these the jobs that the bailout was supposed to create?

You might just have something here, Steve. I know I'm not too savvy on all this, but can you tell me just what jobs have been created so far that we keep hearing about? Far as I can tell, he and his congress just keep quoting numbers but where do are those numbers coming from?

I thought so. My guess is, "no jobs, just fantasy numbers".

Jobs? Besides czars? That's what I don't understand about this Stimulus BS. Where are these "green jobs" supposed to come from? Back in the 70's when Carter the 1st was in charge, I worked a year or so for a government welfare job called CETA. We went out in the woods and trimmed trees all day long. In the winter we made a bonfire to stay warm and cook sausages.
A few years later a few of us went back to take a look and it was all grown back again. What a waste of taxpayer's money. Is this what they are talking about????

Obama health czar Nancy Ann DeParle was a..........lobbyist for corporations connected with health care. Many of them are currently under investigation.
So much for "change" and a new way of governing. Connect the dots yet?
