Bill passed by Senate June 2013. Bill NEVER EVER sent to the senate by Harry Reid. Why would he do that, because it is a violation of the constitution that says all spending bills must begin in the house. This is and was a HUGE spending bill.

He held the bill and then asked the President to bypass congress and make the proclamation.

Now, did the Republicans make a crucial error...maybe, but the ONLY option they had was to introduce their own bill....the constitution would not allow the Senate bill to be voted on by the House.

Recall it is now election time and that is what this was. Please do not paint it with colors it does not deserve. The House was not going to start a process to spend oodles of money and give total amnesty right before any election and the Democrats knew that. The Republicans in the Senate were on the record now and ready to go for reelection, and the WH and Democrats had all their ammo to attack.

Sad, but true.....politics is NOT about the Democrats did good and the Republicans did bad...so there, nor visa versa, but they have you making these statements with no research and you are making them on the PARTY'S terms and not based in reality.

We need comprehensive immigration reform...but as the house and most Republicans have been pretty steady on...it starts with the border. I do not think many on either side are opposed to a PATH to LEGAL STATUS..not citizenship but legal status.

I hope both sides can put all this partisan stuff aside and get to work, but do not insult us with the democratic talking points without knowing exactly why it happened.

You only hear what you are saying by the hard nose party people. It was an expected outcome and all part of the "game" of which most of us are weary

I do admit that the debate on immigration reform will be interesting to say the least. COST is a huge factor as is border security. I think it has to be done in the correct order of things and not some speed up to get votes on either side.

Got any proof that Hillary was selling influence or just another right wing hack job. I just saw, in a weekly newspaper, that Hillary moved Vince Fosters body...you didn't mention that!

And while some of your facts are accurate, they lack context, but bottom line is, as I have been told....stay on thread subject.

Why do trolls need to use insulting and snide language. Is it beyond their grasp to make a case without the flames vocabulary. These are the same folks who do not even read, but feel obligated to deman posters, sources, etc. it is sad.

As stated., around the wise acre remarks, you have solid facts, and I do not contradict any of them. I would suggest you read a bit about the Arab Spring, about the comments by Gates in 2011. Everything you say is correct, but exclude that the Iraq leaders got caught up in the Arab Spring. Our leadership knew we should stay, but did not push it at all, for which I do not blame them at all. So I agree but most of our leaders had come to grips with us staying there as a stabilization factor.

See, I even agreed with those you feel never make mistakes, but again the thread is or was about immigration.
