I worked in a union shop for 40 years, 12 as a union member and 28 as part of management. Union jobs in the private sector killed themselves as they forgot you need a customer willing to pay for that product you are making. Without that oft forgotten piece your high paying job is short lived when there is competition, as you can well see. Now the public sector is a different story as they have no competition so tax payers are on hook for the "good" high middle class wages you speak of.

That's the problem. Apple makes the iphone in China. Trump wants to know why can't they build it here. What would an iphone cost if they made it here?
Take a look at Apple and HP manufacturing in China. How would that work culture go over here?

It was said on another thread that over 50 percent of Americans get some sort of government assistance and therefore will vote for Hillary Clinton.

It was not said what kind of government assistance this was. Consider the large percentage of Villagers who take an extra $15,000 property tax exemption due to being low income seniors. Consider the Villagers who get food from local food pantries due to the fact they cannot live on the survivors Social Security. Consider the large number of low income families in Wildwood and Lady Lake. Look at a large number of Villagers living in very low income housing on the Historic side and in the Rio Grande area of The Villages.

These are our neighbors. They will be voting for the Democrat nominee and not some man who says he wants to cut their benefits.

Pure speculation. I have no idea who my neighbors will be voting for and neither do you.

Trump said that he would not change Social Security. He said that Obamacare costs the customer too much. He wants to make it easier to afford. Where did you get that he wants to cut their benefits. Who have you been talking to. I didn't vote for Trump. I voted against him, but he will probably be our candidate in the general election. I might not like him but I am not going to make up lies about him.

On the other hand, Bernie wants to increase EVERYONE's income/payroll taxes. That is so that lazy college kids, that want to party some before becoming adults, can skate for another four years without having a bill for it. They are stupid, of course because they will be paying for theirs and everyone else's college for the rest of their lives, if Bernie gets his way. Of course, he won't. He is just a looney. Hillary hides it a bit better, other than barking like a little dog. Of course, she tipped her hand the other day when she said she intended to put thousands out of work when she closes down all the coal mines.

It's not speculation, it's a proven fact. People don't vote to have their "benefits" cut. Have you ever asked your employer to lower your salary? Why do you think they would?

Where and when did Donald Trump say that he would cut the "benefits" of Villiagers?

He didn't. Just more left wing lies generated because they have nothing major on him, to use against him in the election. We won't list all the things about Hillary and Bernie.

By the way, I heard Hillary giving a speech this week, where she said that she planned to shut down all coal mines and fire all the employees. That's worth putting thousands out of work. Nice touch from the left, when dealing with the middle class.....ha,ha. Bet she is not counting on votes from PA or WV.

There seems to be a lot of poetic liscence taken or speculation.

I highlighted the one aspect that I think either you are not familiar with the details of those who populate what we affectionately call the historic side.
I have been here 12 years and have never ever heard of ANY part of TV to be considered low income.

I know several that live there and I can assure you it isn't because it is low income housing. The comment at best is undeserved prejudice. And does not do much for credibility.

All in my humble opinion.

Gotta laugh at that comment regarding "low income villagers, living on the historic side." Does that person understand that those folks are paying just as much for amenities as everyone else? The homes are bit cheaper in cost, but even those prices have gone up in the past couple of years. Low income??? What a laugh. If they were having it that hard, they could easily cut and run to a less expensive environment, outside of the Villages. Homes are less expensive for more home outside The Villages, and the prices for products are cheaper elsewhere. I hardly think that you could consider anyone living in The Villages as poverty level. Of course, if you own one of those multi-million dollar homes in The Villages, then I guess you might be tempted to think that everyone else is at the poverty level. I would hazard a guess that you would have to have a middle class income to live here, though.

Just to make it clear. I did NOT type the above piece. Someone has chosen to use "tq". It is not my writing.

While this is repetitious I had nothing to do with the comment that you are referencing.

I have no problem with "taking heat" for whatever I may write but not interesting taking either credit or criticism for items that I have not been involved in.

Our pet troll is trying to get attention again by using someone else's identity. He is good at playing this game. Nothing of substance to add, but still needing that little bit of attention that he can steal.

It makes a statement of the kind of person he or she is.

And hard up.

And frustrated at being on the losing side with choices like Clinton the felon or Bernie the socialist.

How sad.
