Obviously Romney heard these stories and you guys are just to busy talking to listen.

Mitt Romney played the ugly American rather than simply enjoying the Olympics. Nothing he said was not already in the news somewhere, so why repeat it?

And, I just do not see Romney's gravitas. He is a banker and a politician; not a security expert.

I would criticize a Democrat if he/she did something this bone-headed.

i think that because we have had to listen to the words of obama and biden for so long that many have lost the ability to differentiate between an opinion and a gaffe - not to mention a fact or the truth. critical thinking is a skill that fewer and fewer people seem to demonstrate - especially at election time.

when someone does not have to weigh everything that comes out of their mouths and they speak what they believe and they WILL step on some toes as a result....make some mistakes as a result...will be a more truthful, believable, spontaneous person.

Very unlike the constant measuring, preparing, prompting, teleprompting speaking of the career politician as masterfully demonstrated by Obama for the last 4 years.....complete lack of sincerity most of the time.

President Obama never got booed by 60,000 people in any country he visited. Instead, he had upwards of 200,000 cheering him on in Germany in 2008.

btk, you're a thoughtful and intelligent poster who I have agreed with much of the time, and often admired your ability to express yourself. However, lately your distaste for Obama has caused your posts to be biased and unreasonable in my opinion. I really appreciate posters who keep a balance and a fair approach in their posts, which I admit is rare. It seems to me that Romney is a sincere and reasonable person who really would like to help the country. I also believe Obama is a sincere and reasonable person who would like to help the country. They have very different ideas and views on how theat would be accomplished, and those differences can and should be debated. However to call into question either's sincerity, honesty, or patriotism adds nothing to the debate and simply causes people on the other side of the spectrum to be insulted and pushed further into their political corner.

Fair and balanced for Team Obama and the liberal media is a one way street.

The ommission and commissions committed against the Republican and/or conservatives by the liberal media borders on criminal.

There have been books already written, and will be many more on the media and their direlection of duty in 2008 and the continuation thereof.

Nothing that I have seen in the MSM on the Presidents secret plan with Syria that has been going on all year. That was a no no in past administrations with the media.

I personally learn a lot from the exchange of ideas in the Political Forum. And I don't find it offensive when posters take pot shots at each other. With Politics and Religion, a lot of people are deeply committed, and we can expect a little "rough n tumble". That's why there is an "Opt In" button.

You don't see Romney's gravitas?

That's so surprising to me.

I don't mind a little "rough n tumble", and in fact participate in it myself. However, it provides little in the way of understanding and a lot in the way of turning off those on the other side. If you really care to change the hearts and minds of people, it is best to show their opinions and beliefs a little respect.

Whenever people are losing the argument they decry the "incivility" of their political adversary. It's supposed to shut the other guy up.

It happens not only here but the lamestream media does it to shut up Obama critics everywhere.

Does this ever work?
