I only pointed out my opinion to btk because he seldom indulges in pettyness. I don't expect anyone to change their tone or their message because of something I say. As a matter of fact I was not engaged in the "argument", so was not aware I was losing it.

Romney just seems like a politician making stops abroad on his fund raising trip and saying whatever he thinks at these stops which will get him more money for his campaign. It all looks as sincere as those Political Action Committee negative ads. I am not saying the Obama campaign is any better though with their PAC ads slamming Romney. Just do not think that the seriousness of issues like that of the diplomatic capital of Israel and the religious and military history of Jerusalem should be manipulated for vote pandering. Romney also seemed to be doing that in London even if that looks like it was probably the result of reporters trying to get a good quote from candidate Romney. |

President Obama visited Irael as candidate Obama in 2008. When he returns next year after winning reelection, Obama will not criticize the culture of the Palestinians because he knows it takes two to negotiate peace in the middle east.....something Mitt Romney never considered.

the only time my perspective may take on an appearance of bias is when I see the same behavior repeated time and again by someone who is supposed to be the protector of the United States, the constitution and we the people.
I am, like most people, a function of one's background. I am one who believes when I am promised something....I fully expect it. When I am told what a person is going to do and they do not do it, I do not mince words. I want to know why and what they are going to do about it. I am out of patience for Obama's tactics. No transparency as promised. Too much back room politics. No real, tangible initiatives regarding the major issues facing this country: unemployment jobs energy independence defense deficit reduction how about a budget? how about not spending more than what is being taken in? just to name a few. The man will not stand and be counted in any issue that may have a negative impact or perspective on him or his electability. It is always politics. I have said time and again if he were in the private sector he would have not made it through the first year. A leader, a real genuine leader does not measure what to do based on personal risk or reward. They assess, they plan, they commit, they hold delegates and themselves accountable, they report progress, they make corrective action if new information affects the direction given......THEY DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO GET THE TASK DONE. They first and foremost never ever blame the guy who had the job before them. They do not say it is worse than they thought, both reasons for lack of progress. They know making such statements are signs of weakness, lack of leadership. They hire people to work for them that are also leaders that are capable of getting the job/commitments done. Yes there are some things that can go in his completed column....but not the ones he promised to get elected with or the ones that are of critical importance to the longevity of America. I gave him his first year....until his first state of the nation speech to make up my mind about him. He did not deliver. By deliver I do not expect some issues to be magically solved in one year. I do however expect to see initiatives undertaken on the major issues that result in solution...some short term....some very long term like energy independence as an example. So now almost 4 years later and on the major issues facing this country there are no initiatives yet on the table for any of the major issues listed above. In addition the no budget still continues...the out of control, borrow 40 cents of every dollar spending continues. Super committees fail to do their tasks...bail outs without consequence are the order of the day...there is not one good reason yet to have any confidence about the direction of the country....NONE. And to have to listen to him day in and day out make the same promises again....tell us he needs more time to get the job he started done....is just plain outright unacceptable to an action/response oriented, make it happen no matter what it takes type person like myself. If he worked for me he would have gotten his walking papers before the end of the first year. Those are my beliefs and convictions and I most certainly do not subscribe to holding back what I believe in. I will stand and be counted even if it means I am the only one in the room to do so. And I do know how to eat crow if or when I have ever been wrong. Until then.....I call it as I see it. Some of us know there are times when doing what must be done can be very painful and at times unpopular. However these are not criteria for not moving forward and doing what needs to be done. And this in a nut shell underscores why politicians like Obama cannot do the job. In my very personal and humble opinion. btk |

QUOTE=eweissenbach;532542]Holy cow! Were you nailed to a cross when you wrote that?[/QUOTE] eweissenbach: Coach I was raised with a father that had a John Wayne mentality so you can see what my expectations would be. This sniping, artful dodging, disinformation campaign and outright lying by Obama and his long list of syncophants (liberal media and Hollywood types, etc) is as "Popeye" says "all's I can stand". I have enough Obama's definition of hope and his change is well "destructive" demoralizing and dishonest. We are three years post recession and we have the worse record of an unrecovery in the history of this country. to further exacerbate the situation we have Obama telling us with a straight face that his plans are working. We have a guy who is trying to be Mr. Cool with the young set issuing popular directives that mean nothing and in many ways hurt this country just so he can get re-elected. a young set who voted for him in 2008 but now 4 years later are without jobs, hope and change that has left them poor. Obama owns the economy but he won't admit it. He will blame George W for an eternity. You know why? Because he was not reared with a father that had a John Wayne mentality. |

John Wayne was married 3 times and divorced twice. He had a penchant for the leading ladies. John Wayne is always depicted as an American hero in the war movies. In fact, he got a deferment so he did not serve in WWII. The deferment was for being 34 years old. Heck, lots of guys enlisted over the age of 34. Other actors were in WWII like Jimmy Stewart and Clark Gable. Yes, John Wayne movies did get guys to enlist but he never served. |
