There are millions of Americans right now that are struggling to keep a roof over their heads. Inevitably, as things get worse, many more will join those who have already been forced to abandon their old lifestyles to live in short-term low cost motels, homeless shelters, tent cities or in their cars. To be sure, some of those living on the streets made mistakes and poor decisions that have brought them where they are today. Others, however, are the collateral damage from a government run amok and the decades long unfettered sociopathic thievery of law abiding hard working Americans.

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday behind us, where is all the money coming from that folks are spending? Is this the last YooRaw before the collapse of the wild and free spending days?

Our government needs to stop giving billions away to foreign countries that don't like us and start taking care of our own. If not, there could be a very bad change in store for those running this country. Hungry, desperate people will do anything to feed and house their loved ones.

I agree.

Compared to what we're already giving our own (Food Stamps, Section 8, Social Security, Medicare, Medicare, etc) foreign aid is a drop in the bucket.

I'm in favor of cutting it back, but don't think for a minute that this will solve our fiscal problems.

Never said that it would solve the financial problems. But why give money and aid to those that hate us? That has always seem strange to me.

Besides, your "drop in the bucket" will add up once all the "drops in the buckets" start adding up.

I don't like giving money and aid to those that hate us, but the fact is, those that hate us are sending THEIR money and aid into training more foreign disciples to carry out their hatred against our nation too.

And about the article you linked, your statement "With Black Friday and Cyber Monday behind us, where is all the money coming from that folks are spending?" is telling, about what is and is not the real plight of the homeless. Personal responsibility for how a household earns and spends should not be left out of the equation.

People losing their homes to foreclosure has a lot to do with how much debt the buyer took on as compared to their job stability and income. Just because some shoddy lender said they qualified for a bigger loan than they could handle does not mean the buyer has to sign on to it.

the other facts to keep in mind is that the majority of the USA citizenry is not affected by the recession, housing collapse, unemployment and what ever else is a negative on the economy.

90% are still employed and well over 90% still own their homes and all the other positive aspects of what is going on in the USA....but that is not the story is it?

Yes we might conserve what we spend in uncertain times but we surely have it to spend when the urge is triggered. And spending for the holidays by the 90% is no mystery at all....but that is not the story!

DANG. I agree with everyone on this string.

I recently read in WSJ the amount we spend on foreign aid and while I can't give you the amount it was miniscule relative to our GNP. However, I do agree that we ought to withhold aid to nations that hate us and /or are corrupt and such aid will only go to line leaders pockets. But I especially object to the monies we pur into the UN and its affiliated committees, etc.

I have never been much in favor of foreign aid...usually it doesn't really go to the people for which it was intended. To much corruption.

Our own people need help....My villa's are donating to the Ocala Forest people again this year.
