Obama's speech provides a target rich environment to expose his contrived fabrications to the public. That shout out from the South Carolina representative may have breached decorum or etiquette by using words that were less euphemistic than the polite rhetoric Obama expects. He's from Chicago, he should have thick skin. The indelicate truth spoken by the outraged legislator is his absolute defense. Others can have their way with the abortion, illegal immigrant, last dime, and funding fables and other prevarications spewed by Obama.

The biggest slight of hand, or lip, was his pitch to seniors about protecting their Medicare. This coming from a president who is on the record about cutting $500-$600 billion in Medicare costs. I would like to have him produce the revenue he acknowledges as fraud and abuse before he socializes medical care. If he is telling the truth wouldn't that be direct evidence of his credibility. If he knows the money is there, why doesn't he do something now? It's a politically contrived fabrication that will never, ever happen. By the time his grand health plan kicks in, his presidency will be over one way or the other, so he knows he will not have to account for them. dklassen has it right....give us the $500-$600 billion windfall savings without diluting Medicare, that you say will fund your health agenda, in your first term. Prove your not lying to the American people and then we'll talk realistic reform.

His real plan is to reduce and/or eliminate costly medical options for seniors through raids and dilution of medicare. This chilling scenario will be reinforced by the encouragement of end of life initiatives so people die off earlier and more cost effectively. Accordingly, the savings can be trickled down to those who are younger and less demanding on the system. A fringe benefit is the reduction in Social Security rolls. Its all in Tom Daschle's book. Some reward for those in their twilight, golden years who have contributed so much in so many ways to this country.

Forget about BO and Health Care for a moment.

Social Security is bankrupt, Medicare is bankrupt, Medicaid is bankrupt, the government in general is bankrupt and going billions in debt every week.

The government is BROKE!!!! Doesn’t anyone understand this? 500,000 more jobs lost and foreclosures still on the rise. Tax receipts to the government are spiraling down. No jobs are being created.

From a dollars and cents perspective, someone on the left please explain this to me. The last time you were broke, savings gone, credit cards maxed and no job it sight, how much money were you spending? Did you buy that new $100,000 motor home you were looking at? Remodel your kitchen? Put in that new swimming pool?

How is it different with the government? Government now wants to buy a new $100,000 motor home times about a trillion. How is this ok?

Oh, but if we reform health care we will save money! Name one government program that ever saved money? Name one government program that didn’t cost about five times what they originally said it would?

Why is this ok with anyone on the left or right?

Why isn’t anyone demanding a full government audit, government waste cleanup and a balanced budget before we spend ONE MORE DIME of our tax money on social programs?

When you claim the President is lying or dishonest, you are no less obligated than Rep. Wilson to apologize. I do not understand your claims. You wrote several paragraphs without one example of the President's "DISHONESTY".
So I'll just guess.
I heard the President say he is promoting a plan which does not cover illegal aliens or fund abortions. If legislation is passed and signed with that intent, I guarantee you there will be some people somewhere who find a way to beat those rules and scam the system. Is that what you mean by being 'DISHONEST"? If so, you are confusing what the President is promoting and what Congress articulates and passes. The wording of the legislation will determine how few or how many exceptions there be to the targeted ideal. Only once has THE LINE been drawn, with respect to increasing the deficit. If the President signs a bill which increases the deficit you will finally have the opportunity to call him dishonest.

The genius of his plan will emphasize cost effectiveness. Medicare options for the elderly will be greatly reduced consistent with their life expectancy. They will be lovingly introduced to "end of life" possibilities, you know, kinda like what was in that VA booklet. When our generation dies off (or are killed off), sooner than later according to the grand plan, they will also be coming off the Social Security rolls thereby generating more revenue for redistribution and social justice. A two for one benefit. Very efficient.

I am amazed that anyone is still staying with Obama. To understand what his type of vision is just look at the society in the housing projects where there are food stamps, SS money for mothers without husbands, husbands not working but relying on government programs, (e.g.section 8, etc.). There are a host of more programs and this is just a very small number.
This is a micro view of socialism at its best form. The Obama direction calls for more handouts which strip the family from motivation to work and earn.
Does anyone actually think handouts provide motivations. Under the theories of motivation when you give something like this the ones receiving it pretty quickly believe it is due to them and look for more and motivation is destroyed. Think back when you received a raise on the job. How long after you received the raise did you think you had earned it and now wanted another one. Usually takes about 6-8 weeks for that to kick in. Now on top of this tell the next generation there is no way you can get out of the debt we gave you so what is their motivation? We really fouled up their lives.
We took away the motivation for the car industry to become creative, we took away some motivation with more $$$ handouts and what the heck why not pay for the health benifits since we have already ruined their futures and now there is little motivation for people to try to get better since they are in over their heads in debt and they will get all they need without working. I think that leads to a 3rd world country. That is where Mr. Obama is leading us.

That is unless he gives amnesty to the 12 million illegals who are already here. Problem solved. No health care for illegals because they are no longer illegal. And that's exactly what he intends to do. 12 million more on the government take and 12 million more votes for the democrats.Who's gonna pay for it?

Whenever a project is put forth it is usually accompanied by an implementation plan, time table, responsibilities, results to be achieved....payback.

There was never a project anywhere in corporate America that was allowed with the loose ends of the health care reform Just to name the last in a series just like it). No responsibility. No accountability. No justification of funding. No identification of payback. If one could not justify a program they were guided to the door.

This morning Nancy Pelosi added insult to injury by stating there was billions and billions of waste that can easily be taken from the existing health care system.....easily $500 billion. And when challenged what if it isn't there she said there would be no problem "squeezing it out" of other government projects.

How imbecilic is that? If it is that easy why hasn't it been done yet? Why aren't they starting tomorrow? Until such time as specifics are identified we the people, will continue to be persuaded to "trust me" it will not cost one dime.

When Obama asked Congress to come up with $100,000,000 in savings earlier this year by trimming projects....not only did it not happen. His time table by when he expected it to be done was passed without a whimper. They never did hit his number. And these same incompetent, corrupt, spineless and stupid people will find $900 billion to offset?

Yes. The man said what you supporters wanted to hear. For some of us we expect to see details of how they will make it happen. To date there has not been a program from this administration (or any other) on how it will be done and paid for. This administration is the worst. They are back to whipping the hurry up and get it done mode. We worry about the details later....how laughable....even during his speech last night.

Another good example? The automotive companies....how many billions were lent to them? The payback was going to be on a fast track. The American people were going to more than get their money back. That was earlier this summer. Today the Treasury announced it is unlikely GM and Chrysler will be able to pay the money back. And may even need more.

What does it take to wake some of y'all up? Do you need a brick out house to fall on you to see what is happening? Just what the :cus: do you see that will make health care reform any different?

Yup....the man is saying just jump in and swim. When you get in the water we will let you know how far you have to go. Then we will let you know what else is in the water. Then we will let you know whether it is warmer than you can stand. Or maybe colder. And at some point we will let you know if you swim long enough whether you can get there or not. The cost of the swim is $150,000 each, but not to worry we know when you arrive there will be more than enough money waiting in bags on the shore just for the picking it up. And oh by the way if for what ever reason you don't make it or the money isn't there.....we'll get it from your kids and grand kids. What do you expect to swim for free?

Concerning illegal aliens........this is what the President said...

First,there are MANY news reports out there that the President and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) intend to try and pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty legislation soon, that would legalize millions of illegal immigrants and qualify them for all taxpayer benefits and jobs in America.

Second, and this is FACT.....while illegal immigrants are mentioned in HR 3200 as being ineligible for health care benefits, there are no enforcement provisions and Republican lawmaker attempts to amend the legislation and add enforcement provisions have been voted down by Democrats. Illegals are not supposed to receive welfare, medicaide, vote or even have jobs, but they do because there is no enforcment !

So, how do you square this ?

The President said...."And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up: under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place."

The Public option, which he favors clearly DOES allow for the use of federal money for abortions !

How do you square that ?

Couldn't agree more. The ever-narrowing band of Republicants offers nothing of substance, denies the crisis in both health insurance and cost to the debt are real, and then sits smugly by with their arms folded.
