Why not have open carry or concealed carry - either one - at professional and college sports events?

Let the Republican Clown Convention delegates carry guns as well as the candidates. Should make for interesting world headlines as gunfights break out.

Whether there is open or concealed carry has not more impact on the risk of being shot than whether you wear your tan or yellow golf shirt.

On the other hand being in a gun free zone does have the potential to increase the risk of being shot. About the same as in schools for example.

The emotional/predjudice/inference that always surrounds those who have guns legally stifles reality.

It is what can be expected when the knowledge level is limited to media, movies and television only information base.
I have lived in a gun free zone all of my 65 years. Only once did a scared little white man pull a gun on me. I followed him home and reported him to the police. He spent the weekend in jail.

I went to the Women's Final Four in that arena, UCONN, wasn't even then.. I wasn't hurt nor shot at.

To me the only thing you fear are the rest of the people in the building.

Thousands sign satirical petition to allow guns at Republican Convention
Technically Incorrect: An online petition on Change.org claims that constitutional rights are being denied to those who want to bring a gun to the fight for the Republican Party's future. Except the petition is surely humorous.

If you are sensitive, I am sorry for you. You probably shouldn't own a weapon or any sharp objects. I hope that doesn't sound personal.

You obviously do not know how many people in your community carry guns every day that you do not know about. I have carried a gun for many years, professionally and otherwise. No one has every known I was carrying. I have probably walked right past you, possibly more than once. You didn't know, but you should be grateful, because I would have protected you if you ran into trouble. Trouble that you would be unequipped to handle on your own. And instead of protecting your family as you should, people such as myself will hopefully be around to do it for you. A gun is just another tool. Since our country has become more and more lax regarding enforcement and justice, one has to be constantly vigilant regarding personal safety/security. The police are unable to protect you and the best you can hope for is that they are not too busy elsewhere to come and assist with first aid and reporting the incident if it should occur. I have no problem with those that are scared of weapons and do not wish to handle them, but I do have problems with those that want to ban other folks from protecting their families. I find such folks to be seriously selfish.

Regarding the carrying of weapons in a convention. I do not think that it is a good idea, considering the inflammatory nature of the venue. Police and security officers are paid to put up with abusive conflict without resorting to spontaneous violence. Not so for the average civilian. Where most folks are responsible gun owners, if someone was to be threatening them by getting into their face and screaming, that may cause fear and alarm and that person may fear for his safety, which might then lead to a thoughtless act of brandishing a gun. I am not saying that his is common, but it's possible in a heated environment. I can understand why they would not want gun owners to carry in this kind of forum. Just because I could carry concealed in such a place without feeling the need to use it, does not meant that others have my background. If one NEEDS to carry a gun to give them confidence, then they are carrying it for the wrong reason. If you fear attending this function without a gun then you shouldn't be attending. It means that you are not prepared to handle the environment without a confidence bolster.
You definitely have a size of manhood complex when you talk of carrying a gun and calling those that do not wish to do it "cowards". If you would care to step out from in back of your keyboard and call me a coward face to face, name the venue. Otherwise, apologize to your betters and keep quiet.

You allow your fear to direct your actions and you wish someone to apologize to you for pointing it out? And then you want to compare the size of your "manhood" with that poster? Sounds like you have issues.

That is what a limited knowledge/education based on media, movies and television only produces. Unreal world of fantasy and complete lack of understanding and respect for the law abiding that elect to carry a gun!!!!

Not worth a response to one's fantasy of a movie wild west scenario.

Out in LEFT field.

Speaking on ABC News’s This Week on Sunday, Trump said he wants to “study the fine print” of the petition and said he hasn’t yet read it. He also referred to himself as “a very, very strong person for [the] Second Amendment.”

He's getting more PC everyday. He doesn't want to loose any votes.

Yes, I can see it........not! But, I can see liberals at the DNC convention pulling hair and biting each other in their cat fights. Someone might get real mean and slap someone. I bet to really insult each other they will call them names like, "you big meanie conservative", or "your mother works for a living", or "your parents were right wing fanatics." It will probably be totally out of control by the end of the night.

Who cares? He only upsets the libtards, and they don't count anyway. They will vote for a criminal or a socialist. They are idiots that have never had to sacrifice for their country or probably even have to work a hard job.

Political correctness (adjectivally: politically correct), commonly abbreviated to PC,[1] is a term which, in modern usage, is used to describe language, policies, or measures which are intended not to offend or disadvantage any particular group of people in society.

His answer sounds mighty PC to me. A bit like the David Dukes answer. He needs a little time to think about it.
