Dear Guests:
This nastiness is not restricted to The Villages because unfortunately it is pervasive around much of the country. Why we have become so uncivilized can be traced to the paternity of many fathers. Donald Trump manner is direct but given what we have allowed ourselves to become it is going to take some directness to get people's attention. So Donald Trump has been an eye opener. Take the situation with Colin Kaepanick disrespect for our national anthem. Trump said out loud what many Americans thought privately. History has demonstrated the the swinging of the pendulum from one radical swing to the other Cést la vie. Specifically we have at least one troll on political forum. Can't tell because of the "guest label" But whether its one or more the remainder of us have a moral responsibility to avoid hateful remarks and especially ones that continue to give life and meaning to trolls Personally I do not view The Villages in any other light than a place I chose because of lower taxes, clean surroundings. I am concerned that it is growing too large but that's Florida and so like many I'll simply adapt Finally I want those outsiders (all not on political talk living in TV and those not living in TV) to understand that most of the members of political talk wanted just that and no more. but again we have become an uncivilized society. Political talk is not detrimental its the few epsilons that the moderators ought to boot off TOTV permanently that have created this ugliness Personal Best Regard": |

We're becoming "uncivilized" because we're dealing with uncivilized animals. Take a walk some night in Newark, Detroit, Chicago, St Louis, Oakland...ANY "diversified" neighborhood and you'll see who the uncivilized are. See why we must lower ourselves to their level when dealing with them. Treating them as equals sure hasn't improved anything. "Stupid ni@@er"? That's what I thought. What's a "hateful" remark? Anything YOU don't agree with? The TRUTH? If they'd act like respectable, responsible people, I'd accept them. They don't, so I don't. You see the 1% who are "normal", I'm against the other 99% who are a drag and nothing but trouble to the rest of society. WHAT do they improve with their presence? If you want it to STAY nice and clean...keep the minorities OUT. The safety, cleanliness, happiness, the general prosperity of an area...is DIRECTLY proportional to the demographics. More whites and less minorities make for a better place to live...always...everywhere. It's ALWAYS the same...and it's ALWAYS true. The whiter the better, the darker the sh!ttier. Disagree? PROVE your point. Show us all the "minority paradise". |

For one thing, many use third party apps (Tapatalk, et. Al.) to read ToTV. Many of those don't filter groups, so the political forum is there. Period. Of course you can ignore Guest posts, but that's easier said than done also. There are many Guest posts. It's simply a pain to try to wade through them all. It's impossible to not see a thread title, or the first portion of a post, etc. Add to that the fact that some political posts on these third party apps also show the true ToTV id for the poster...NOT Guest. Yep. Not uncommon at all. So it's not as easy as it sounds for many to avoid the political forum. And since it's such a sordid, nasty, ugly place, conveying positions and thoughts that are not in the least bit shared by the vast...and I do mean VAST...majority of TV residents, it can be a very bad reflection on TV and ToTV. And in my opinion, FWIW, calling it a bad reflection on TV and ToTV is a major understatement. |

I just want to say that it is refreshing to find a political forum that is so open and inclusive. The "guest" feature of anonymity gives one the freedom to express honestly their true thoughts on the political process in our country. This is a great idea and provides a place for those that wish to express their political views honestly. The "guest" feature makes it impossible for anyone to attack someone personally, because they have no idea whether that person is even reading their angry retorts.
Bravo TOTV and the political talk forum! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If this forum did not use the "guest" ID to hide us, I would still post honestly as long as I knew I would not be banned for being non-PC. It has nothing to do with the ID for me. If one wishes to debate politics to me in person, I take that as a ticket to speak freely. Otherwise, I do not talk politics or religion in a social setting. I am beyond the age that worries about what someone thinks of me. I am secure in myself and do not care is one agrees with my beliefs, as long as they do not stymie my freedom to speak my mind. I have never been punched for my views, although most liberals seem to be slighter in stature and more on the line of pacifists unless they have the power to bully in numbers. This is the only forum on this website (as far as I know) that does not ban one for speaking his/her mind. I like it. I don't take it personal if someone does not agree with me. I fought for their right to do so and I certainly encourage honest debate. I do not want everyone to agree with me, but I also hope that they don't take personal issue with my outspoken manner. You can say anything you wish to me regarding your political view. I will not take it personal. I just figure that many on here have not traveled as much as myself and seen how fortunate we have it in our country. Otherwise, they would be more grateful and try to protect this special country from damage. Socialism to a liberal is like a candy shop to a child. It looks good from outside the window, but if they get inside and partake of the goodies, they soon find out how unhealthy it is. I love my liberal friends but I also make fun of them. I make fun of them because I realize that they are ignorant and don't know any better. Like young children. If you give every child a trophy for participation, does that trophy mean anything to them? If you make everyone economically equal do you not think that some will try to take from the others so that they will have more than the average? There is no such thing as equality. You can treat everyone equally, but not everyone is equal.
This is a great means of debating political views. If you don't like it, why do you wish to ban it? Just leave...........or can you? |

I may have been a bit too harsh on my liberal friends. I love to spar verbally with them to hone my limited skill(?). A little bit of wit is good and challenging. In my case I have very little wit, and perhaps that makes me a "half-wit"? And if I knew you, I would accept that beverage. Of course, I am not proud. I would drink a beverage with my liberal friends too. There is an inherent good in our fellow Americans that's just waiting to express itself. |

If/WHEN Trump wins, all of America will be better for it. If Hillary wins, I doubt anyone but the Clintons will benefit. Trump will compromise and benefit both sides, whereas Hillary will just move our country further toward the abyss.
