Its a concealed weapon. How would anyone know that someone is packing?

I'm just guessing that there will be metal detectors since no knives are allowed.

AGAIN, at least two zones are being set up. One is a security zone which is governed by the secret service and they will do what they want no matter the existing state law.

The second is the one in question, now being called a 'clean" zone and subject to inspections of any kind by law enforcements.

NOBODY will get near the actual convention site with anything the secret service does not want there.

PS....In the interest of FULL DISCLOSURE, I have a high rise condo unit located in center city Tampa !!

Republicans may be having second thoughts about selecting Tampa as its convention site.

Permitted concealed firearms would be allowed in GOP convention protest zone - Tampa Bay Times
That's interesting, janmcn. See nothing but some information here. Not sure why the other posters are making personal attacks.

You can bet though that there will be hundreds of cops both undercover and plainclothes keeping an eye on things. John Sandford's Prey books are quite interesting on insights about what goes on in planning political national conventions. There are a couple of these that cover a national convention in the Twin Cities. Cannot remember if it is a Democratic one or a Republican one though.
