Fig Newton's comment about trying to get the Republicans to fight amongst themselves was ridiculous. Brian Williams should have responsed with we are trying to see differences between the Republican candidates.

Was Michelle Bachmann decrying the use of all school required vaccines such as smallpox, polio, or whooping cough by saying it is a parent's right to get their children vaccinated? Just what we need in the world is another outbreak of those diseases that were eradicated by vaccines - and required by law to attend school.

Rick Perry still is behind the time about global warming. Scientists (with credentials from other places than FOX News) have decided that global climate change is man-made.

Romney stood up pretty good. Still my choice of any Republican. Ron Paul is a crackpot as is Bachmann. Gingrich is useless. Santorum is a Gingrich puppet. Huntsman was also okay. Cain is out of his league but obviously has ideas.

Come one now buggy. Climategate is almost 2 years old. Surely (don't call me shirley) you do not still believe that man has caused global warming. I thought you were a learned guy. Don't you know the Green Movement's True Colors?

I think you saw that totally wrong and Newt was absolutely correct. The biased moderators asked very little substantive questions. They were dwelling on the negatives and trying to get the candidates to blast each other. They had a little success getting the 2 frontrunners to do so. I think they were purposely trying to get them to damage each other instead of finding out specifics of how they would govern.

Rick Perry is correct about man made global warming. There is no definitive scientific evidence to prove it. It's not a settled scientific fact. Just cause you say so doesn't make it so.

Your last paragraph is very flawed. Also I'm suspicious of any Republican a guy as leftist as you thinks is peachy. (with all due respect)

That doggone lamestream media. When will people wake up and realize they are just a political arm of the Democratic party or even worse, socialists. Praise the Lord we have Fox Noise to combat them. :cus:

:girlneener: fox noise...good one!

IF what you say is true about the "debate" on MSNBC was a planned event for bashing the Republican candidates (and I do not think it went down like that) - why did the Republican candidates bother to attend? Maybe they should have figured that a liberal station like MSNBC would try to just get them to turn on each other and would not attend. Why didn't FOX have them on their staton with the FOX moderators as the hosts?

It gave Americans a chance to see the characters running - so far - and to get a very brief look at their views.

I would still like to get the viewpoints on Michelle Bachmann being upset that children are required to have vaccinations before attending school.

No one put their foot in their mouth. No gaffes. Big winner, in my viewpoint, was Jon Huntsman with Mitt Romney coming in second. Santorum was definitely dead-last.

Buggy, Jon Huntsman should be running as Obama's Vice President.
I, too, have wondered why the Republicans always agree to debates moderated by liberals. Someone pointed out to me that it would be hard to find journalists that aren't liberal. I had to agree.

John Huntsman was handled with kid gloves for some reason. The liberal commentators must like him a lot, as you do. Unlike everyone else he was not challenged on any topic and only given open ended questions on which to pontificate. They were so sure of him they even gave him a question asking him to bash the others near the end. Very astutely, he refused to comply. He's about as Republican as you are.

The only good points the candidates got in was accomplished by ignoring what the 2 liberal commentators were trying to get them to say and saying what they wanted to say about their candidacy. (I guess I should say 3 liberal commentators including that guy from Telemundo who tried to get the candidates to say something damaging to themselves about illegal immigration.)

I can see what you are saying - so why didn't FOX have the "debate" on their network with their own commentators?

Personally, I enjoyed the chance to see all of them together.

It will be very interesting to see who the final President and VP candidates will be for the Republicans. If either of them is too far to the right such as Bachmann or Perry, kiss it good-bye for 4 more years. If either of them is Evangelical like Santorum, kiss it good-bye. Romney and Huntsman as a ticket might work.

There are supposed to be a few more debates. I don't know the venue for them. We shall see what we shall see.

Ron Paul and some others disagree with your view of Perry. They say he "ain't no conservative" Amazing how everyone looks at something and sees something different.

Romney/Huntsman?; Why would I want that? Everything we run moderate candidates they lose. Gerald Ford, Bob Dole and John McCain were all "moderates" and they went down in flames. I don't want a candidate that liberals like. I want a candidate that makes you say OMG!!

Still, like I held my nose and pulled the lever for McCain, I will vote for whoever is running against this failed President.

On September 22nd there is going to be a debate sponsored by FNC, Google and the Florida GOP. It is being held in Orlando. You can submit questions at FOX News.com

I bet a couple of those candidates will make a stop in The Villages if they are going to be in Orlando.

Anyone going to go see Dickie Cheney at Savannah Center on the 14th?

The Villages is a friendly stop, for the Republican candidate photo-op. (I'm a closet poet)

No, I don't think so. I'll save my money for a more relevant Republican.

Of course not....but I read that all the tickets were gone. So glad to let someone else have ones I could have gotten. Had enough of him...my favorite was when a reporter said something like 60% of Americans were against the war in Iraq and his response was "SO?" Condie also has said he misrepresented events concerning her in his book....Have fun you guys seeing him.....

Guest 09-08-2011 06:26 PM

Cheney..even if he paid me I wouldn't waste my time.

Guest 09-08-2011 06:32 PM

I think it was better to have the debate on MSNBC with Brian Williams. If it had been on Fox "noise", as some of the posters on this forum so affectionately refer to Fox News, the left would currently be making comments on how Fox coddled and lobbed softballs at their own little darlings...Yep, the way it happened was better.
