Default We Need Some Real News!

A quick look at many of the major news sources today--the New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, CNN--shows virtually no front page coverage of the presidential campaign. Oh, the Washington Post has a front page article entitled, "Where Obama Failed On The Middle East". I wonder how that article will get twisted around to make it anti-Romney and pro-Obama? We know it will of course, because one of our posters here has told us that "...the media pays attention ONLY to the attacks on Romney..." And several people have agreed with him.

"Meet The Press" had Romney's senior campaign advisor, GOP Senator Jon Kyl, and even Grover Norquist on today. "Face The Nation" had Paul Ryan as it's lead interview. But we know the media will somehow twist all those interviews to favor Obama. We know the interviewers won't let the guests talk about real issues, only those immaterial things that are anti-Romney. We know that because some posters here have told us so.

The media seems to have lost interest in this boring, attack ad after attack ad campaign. Then when they do feature people who we think might favor Romney, we know they twist the facts to favor only Obama. We really need someone to feed us some news links that will expand our knowledge about the candidates, the truth and the real issues. And what about their character faults? There's gotta be some facts from their youth and early careers that would tell us what to expect should either of them be sitting in the Oval Office come January 21.

How about some meaningful links to help us find out the real facts about these guys running for President? C'mon, how are we going to make up our minds on who to vote for in November?

Why do I keep picturing Ralph Kramden saying this to Alice?

The story surely had all the networks, you and the rest on here in such a frenzy....only wish you and they had used the same attention in the past.

But this is not going away....Obama does not want to and will not talk about issues thus this will continue. We, with friends watched this morning on some talk shows and it has not abated....this calculated attack on the man mean to destroy him so the issues become secondary.

I see Romney putting out plans, and he is not being evasive as you and others suggest...he has details out there but nobody cares about that....when did he leave Bain, is he a criminal or a liar.

If I sound bitter, I admit to it....the last few days have shown that my gut was correct on so many things.

This campaign, unless the press wakes up, is going to be about Romney the man because that is what Obama wants it to be and he has ALWAYS been good at this game, for which I applaud him but it does us no good. He evaded all the questions about him, the man as did the media but he has focus.

I will give him credit, he is good at it. He was good at in the early part of the decade and now with money and power he is better.

Now allow me to correct you. On Face the Nation this morning, Paul Ryan was on for approx 3/4 minutes. The blunt of the show was Obama's campaign lady repeating and repeating over and over the same charges on Bain. Or maybe on your tv it came in differently. Ryan did mention the plans that Romney had but that was totally by passed..TOTALLY. That is what was on my screen. Ryan was NOT THE LEAD INTERVIEW IN ANY WAY. no matter how many times you say it.

We must watch and read different papers. You mention the Washington Post...I tried in response to your accusations quote them to you on Bain....I tried to quote a number of other sources and you said you relied on the ones supplied by folks on here who will remain nameless. You did come back with others but when I mentioned the Post and how they had investigated this charge, you just ignored it. Now you bring it up and say that folks are twisting things to make stories different that what they are...I challenge you on that.

Do I still sound bitter ? Your post is sarcastic and misleading. That is not crying about anything...that is just stating a fact.

I have tried and will continue with another poster later on issues confroning us but mostly I get short, sarcastic notes ridiculing me for length or even color. I have begun posts on Syria with no takers....I pointed you to the Romney website when you said he offered no specifics. I started a thread "Lets put our politics aside for a moment" which tried to begin conversation on the ME and got one reply on July 4....I have tried to discuss the health care law on here so many times and the paying for it and got nothing but folks trying to put me on a guilt trip...I even did the research and listed how we propose to pay for it and got ridiculed so I just deleted the list because nobody cared. I am open to discussing issues. You get those folks on your side to do it and we are set. You feel everyone is talking about Obama....well, nobody and I mean nobody ever comes on here to defend him......the normal responses are just more of the political tweet type.

Sorry...I am going on and on but the attitude...and listen I know you feel VERY confident that you are right....I am NOT that confident on things....I enjoy the give and take and perhaps I expect folks to be forthcoming on issues....I want to learn all I can but the last few days...well, frankly...I always felt like I, other than being totally anti Obama, sort of in the middle on most issues....the last few days...the contradiction that I see here and in the press is really pushing me more and more right.

Again sorry....doubt it anyone read this far so it doesnt matter, but just how I feel at this moment.

Why don't you find your own links about what you're bitching about? You should be able to find them being as intelligent and computer savvy as you are.

How about you presenting more pertinent thoughts besides just bashing on a poster who apparently got your goat in a way you don't otherwise know how to respond to.

I'm really having a hard time trying to figure out what you expect here. If you are finding that the "talking head" shows are actually bashing Obama instead of Romney, you can link that show and prove the object of your derision wrong about his observations.

The news everyone should be thinking about is our crashing economy, disillusioned populace and our dissolving freedoms.

That's my take.

Very few on this forum are interested in real news. They would prefer to get only news (or propoganda) that fits their solidly made-up minds, and dismiss as absurd or biased, anything that doesn't. There is a large percentage of voters, according to credible sources, that are independents, but most don't bother with forums like this.

Trying to carry VK's water?

Nobody's talking about FOX News. Everybody knows that it's basically only FOX that ever airs reports and discussions that are ultimately critical of Obama.

Find something by ABC, CBS or NBC on their Sunday talking head shows. That's the venue that's really being discussed here.

Someone asked for real news. A couple of key strokes got it. Very simple.

OK, maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were referring to the last post, which was mine.

That's why "quoting" is so important so we know who is being addressed.

Yep I will quote in the future.
