It seems like the responsible thing to do with the event starting, instead of patting oneself on the back for having covered all the bases when they're not.

Better for some toes to be stepped on and for "heads to roll" in advance of a 911-scale terrorist attack, than for heads to literally roll out of burning, falling tons of concrete and steel.
I'm going to ask this question again, quoted above in my earlier post.

Why would you want a person with Romney's Olympic management and security experience to remain silent when there are gaps that are open to another 9-11 or worse attack????

Let's not forget 1972 Munich.

If Mitt Romney has information about another 9-11 or worse attack, he should report it to the proper authorities, not discuss it on the evening news. If his expertise is so crucial, he should stay in London and advise, and not travel to Israel and Poland.

The British press, not to mention London's mayor, also had concerns about security.

You purposely miss the point in order to mock and ridicule according to the Alinsky Method, Rule #5.

Everyone here knows we are talking about known conditions that cause vulnerability to possible 9-11 type attacks, NOT specific "information about another 9-11 or worse attack" that you accuse Romney of being interested in keeping to himself.....while his own wife, family, friends and fellow citizens are present, no less.

You miss my point. If Mitt Romney is the expert, having run the 2002 Olympics, he needs to advise the Olympic committee of his concerns not discuss it on the evening news. Most people don't go to another's home or country and insult them.

Romney did play the Ugly American at the Olympics. Hope his wife's horse does better. I wonder who gets the medal if the horse wins??

I doubt if Romney was read into all that much of what was going on with respect to security at the Olympics. He was just parroting what he had heard in the news over the past few weeks.

Whatever. There still is practically nobody else who has a greater knowledge and stature to make singular comments on the logistical concerns of an Olympics.

Come November (probably by next week, really) this will be a footnote, and unimportant to anyone except the most rabid Romney detractor.

If by rabid Romney distractor, you mean Karl Rove and Charles Krauthammer, you are correct. Both criticized Mitt Romney for his remarks in London. Watch Krauthammer's remark here:

I just do not see the stature of Mitt Romney. He is hardly of more stature than many of the various Republican and Democratic candidates who have run for President over the past 60 years. He still has to win to get stature. I would rather hear what John McCain, Al Gore, Jr., John Kerry, or any other past candidate had to say about the London Olympics.

I also re-iterate that Mitt Romney probably has not seen any of the massive amount of paperwork done on the London Olympics. He is running for President of the United States and is probably concentrating on that.

None of the people you name has anywhere near the Olympic stature of Gov. Mitt Romney who is credited by all, except the most partisan leftists, with saving the Salt Lake Olympics and thus it cannot be denied that he has the inside track on reviewing the logistical planning of an Olympic event.

You've lost total focus here.

WHOA, Google broke?

Generally, with the exception of equitation all awards go to the horse (horse's owner). The Olympics are the exception in that all awards go to the rider regardless of who owns the horse.

FWIW That horse is not winning.
