Everything above is in error, especially the press conference that was no a real congressional hearing. But I think I'll step back an allow you your misconceptions. There's really no point in me trying to reason with someone who I think is unreasonable.

When you get all these liberal women bashers thrown off the air, talk to me again about Rush Limbaugh.

Seems like a double standard to me. If you are a public figure, then it's open season on you to be called anything in the book, but if you are an ordinary citizen getting involved in the public platform , then you cry foul.

Not exactly, schotzyb. There are a lot of things you cannot say about a public figure. I checked out whispering campaign on Wikipedia. It is one dirty trick that goes way too far. There a lot of other ones that if the culprit is outed, usually tarnishes the person using the dirty trick more than its target.

The whispering campaign goes back to the political contest between Jefferson and John Adams (Presidential campaign of 1800), if not a lot farther. I am sure you could probably find something like it in the politics of just about every nation and period. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whispering_campaign

Senator John McCain was a target of Bush's campaign back in 2000 of a whispering campaign.

Here's a link. Now it's up to 35 sponsors. Have you tried just googling Limbaugh sponsors pull out?

You, not you personally, can spin it any which way you desire but there is absolutely no difference being a public figure or private citizen when it comes to being berated by entertainers, other politicians or so called newspeople. Berating and name calling does the same damage to either a public or private citizen . There is no place for it on either side of the fence.

Right back at ya!! It's all in the perspective isn't it. Now how about just concentrating on the issues and cut out the personal comments.

You're turning into a first class flamethrower here.

I can "report post" as well as you. I'm paying attention.

Carbonite, one of the sponsors to abandon Rush Limbaugh who was a big part of their name recognition and rise in sales, has experienced a severe backlash as it's stock is plummeting. It's investors are fleeing. Interesting, isn't it.

I have to wonder how many of these sponsors were "looking for an excuse" to pull out and maybe make some news in doing it.

It's not like Rush has never said words like these in the past. It just seems to have raised a bigger firestorm this time around.

Guest 03-07-2012 11:01 AM

That fat, impotent slob is now a laughing stock and his rant against Sandra Fluke has rallied thinking women over to President Obama's side. The Dumpublicans have showed (through Limbaugh) they are against women's health issues.

Guest 03-07-2012 12:50 PM

Here's a pretty good column on the abundant hypocrisy surrounding this singling out of Limbaugh for the gallows tree.

It doesn't spare any punches for Limbaugh, but honestly acknowledges the abundant audacity of the left to be so shocked at his verbiage coupled with the lame-o reasons why Limbaugh saying something is so much worse than if they say it.

I think they are both pigs. No one should get a pass at such vulgar insults to anyone rather public or not. I am happy to see that this is a bipartisan agreement.

I don't think you read the article, because it mention a lot more liberals than one.

Liberal talkers are way more culpable in the defaming of women than Rush has ever been. You really should read it before commenting on it. It's advisable for any published story.

Seriously??; now I feel a wee bit guilty for the tweaking, but you're welcome.

I do understand loyalty to a person or a viewpoint, in any event. Every once in a while, as I look back, I think I maybe could have been a little bit more understanding of another's viewpoint. It's not an easy thing to do.

Ditto: I also find it easy to say nothing about abuse give to someone that I also find less than helpful, but wrong is wrong and Mr Bill overstepped what should be considered unacceptable comments for a personality of any level of power or type of position. Can I come back on Monday night if I sit on the side with Buggy One?

Me an Buggy always sit next to each other so we can chat freely, and besides he has a really low voice that doesn't carry well in noisy crowds. I'm not sure Buggy will be there. He sometimes is and sometimes isn't.

It's kind of an open invite thing. The same applies to you. You know where I will be, and I don't carry the Political Forum with me on Monday nights.

Cool. I would like to meet Buggy One sometime. I am definitely somewhere between you and him on political views. I do appreciate a fine Bourbon with anyone so we have that going for us.

Forty five sponsors have now dropped Rush Limbaugh, but Rush said "he's cool; it's like dropping a few french fries while in the drive-in lane". Rush should know. It looks like he's spent quite a bit of time in the drive-in lane.

Hey now even the controversial Bill Maher has come to Rush Limbaugh's defense and is speaking out against the liberal media scorched earth campaign against Rush Limbaugh which has resulted in many death threats.

The attackers of Rush Limbaugh have become far more detestable than whatever they accused him of.

Abortion, Abortifacents and artifical Contraception are not women's health issues that really matter. The BHO regime raised the age when women can get mamograms, how often they can get them, and banned the most effective drug used to fight breast cancer. Now that is women's health being restricted. The other stuff is convenience and The Pill, while wrong to be used to prevent conception, is available asw a generic for less than $10 a month.

This Sandra Fluke has a full scholrship to Georgetown Law and expects to make north of $160K a year when she graduates. And if she can't afford the $10 a month, DC gives them out free.

And a side note, Rush is not fat, he lost a lot of weight these past years. He can even fit in those small clothes JOSB sells. Have you seen a recent picture of him, his appearances on the Haney Project may still be available on the Golf Channel.

Guest 03-08-2012 02:09 PM

"The Pill, while wrong to be used to prevent conception, is available asw a generic for less than $10 a month."

What do you mean wrong to be used to prevent conception?

Guest 03-08-2012 02:18 PM

Perhaps its my nature or perhaps my training or perhaps both but I refuse to allow the liberal reporting media the satisfaction of taking my eye off task.
The issue isn't Limbaugh, a woman's right or Sandra Fluke. The issue is the BHO Administration again ignoring the US Constitution Taking your eye off task is like holding the wiggling tail of a gecko while the little fellow walks away proud and prim that he has outsmarted you again

Tell the government to mind their own business....we don't need their stinking contraceptive because we can buy ar own for $9 at Walmart. Geeez

rubicon, I haven't followed TOTV in awhile because of some of the ridiculous posts and sidetracking of discussions. My nearly 3 year old granddaughter is visiting and is down for her nap. I have been reading and catching up with the forum.

I just wanted to tell you that this is the second post I've read from you today, one in another thread, that are so logical and full of commonsense I may have to return to TOTV's political again. You give me hope that all is not lost here.

bkcunningham: I don't have grand children and as I loved being a Dad looked forward to grand children. But so far no talcum powdered little persons yet.

Thanks for the compliment. It seems to me that by now citizens should be aware of the fact that politicians and their sycophants ( money men, hollywood stars) don't give a darn about us . So the disrespectful/unfair treatment of one citizen today can as easily fall on another tommorow. We have the priviledge...right to control our lives ..our destiny and its slipping through our fingers because of nonsense.

Enjoy the little one...
