Default AP: Russia Warns US Over Syria

IRUT (AP) — Russia warned the United States Saturday against carrying out any attacks on Syrian government forces, saying it would have repercussions across the Middle East as government forces captured a hill on the edge of the northern city of Aleppo under the cover of airstrikes.

Russian news agencies quoted Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying that a U.S. intervention against the Syrian army "will lead to terrible, tectonic consequences not only on the territory of this country but also in the region on the whole."

___

Associated Press writers Nataliya Vasilyeva in Moscow, Albert Aji in Damascus, Syria and Jan M. Olsen in Copenhagen, Denmark, contributed to this report.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------This is what 8 years of Obama has brought us . We are so weak that Russia a much downsized USSR can now tell us what to do !
And voters want another 8 years of this weakening of our country ? They wouldn`t have said such a thing when Reagan was in charge .

JUST BE AWARE

"Congressional Republicans have avoided getting behind their Democratic counterparts' calls for an investigation of Donald Trump's alleged ties to Russia — but not because charges. The Daily Beast reported Friday that Republican congressional staff said "Trump and his aides' connections to Russian officials and business interests haven't gone unnoticed and are concerning" to GOP lawmakers.

Yet, Trump likely won't face the scrutiny his advisers have. The Daily Beast reported that although GOP lawmakers apparently reviewed Democrats' "written requests to the FBI that it investigate Trump before they were made public," they didn't sign on, possibly in the interest of avoiding a probe into their party's nominee."

Donald Trump's alleged ties to Russia might slide by without an investigation. Here's why.

It IS real folks..only thing that makes me feel even slightly less nervous would be tax returns..who he owes in Russia and how much

"It has been an odd day for Newsweek – its main site was taken offline after it published a story claiming a company owned by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump broke an embargo against doing deals with Cuba.

The magazine first thought that the sheer volume of interest in its scoop was the cause for the outage, but quickly realized that something more sinister was afoot.

The site was being bombarded by junk traffic from servers all around the world, but the majority came from Russia, the editor in chief Jim Impoco has now said.

"Last night we were on the receiving end of what our IT chief called a 'massive' DoS [denial of service] attack," he told Talking Points Memo.

"As with any DDoS [distributed DoS] attack, there are lots of IP addresses, but the main ones are Russian, though that in itself does not prove anything. We are still investigating."

The story, written by staffer Kurt Eichenwald, detailed how former employees of Trump Hotels had arranged a visit to Cuba in 1998 to explore the possibility of joint ventures with the communist regime. A consultancy company called Seven Arrows made the visit, and the funds to pay for the trip were then allegedly hidden as a charitable expense.

Shortly after the story was published, traffic on the site started to rise – as you'd expect in a presidential season with serious allegations being made. But the traffic count continued to rise and eventually brought the site down.

As with any DDoS attack, finding the culprit is nearly impossible. But it appears that the article has ****ed off a lot of people who control many Russian servers. ®"

Probably by now, you have all heard of Carter Page, the ex advisor to Trump who has been in Russia "negotiating".

This is one of the number of articles written about this mysterious guy, and this exert is interesting.

"What I did find, however, is that while Page might not be helping Trump, Trump has been a significant help to Page. Since being named by Trump as an adviser, Page, who has spent his career trying to put together energy deals in Russia and the former Soviet Union, has finally begun to be noticed in the region. He is being treated in Russia as a person with potentially important ties in America. “He’s an extremely well-informed, authoritative expert on Russia,” says Mikhail Leontiev, a pro-Kremlin talking head and spokesman for Rosneft, Russia’s state oil giant. “People really respect him in this industry. He’s a very serious guy, and he has a good reputation.” According to the Yahoo report, U.S. intelligence believes Page had an audience with top Russian officials—including Rosneft head Igor Sechin—during a summer trip to Moscow. From what I could find about him, it’s hard to imagine he could have secured those meetings without that mention by Trump.

Newsweek is NOT the former magazine . It is now a blog run by very liberal Jewish writers who can no longer find real employment .

Folks on here sarcastically suggest conversation on ISSUES.

This is a BIG issue. Russia is not our friend. To have a candidate have such obvious ties with them. To have had 2 campaign managers with such strong ties to them. To have a recent advisor IN Russia mysteriously negotiating, and that candidate refuse to give his income tax, which would identify who he is indebted to and how much, compounded by he never denies his being in debt to Russia.

"Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has refused to release his tax returns, leading one former congressman from Kansas to fear that Trump may owe millions — maybe even hundreds of millions — to Russian oligarchs."

Wow, this thread went from Russia and Syria to liberals attempting to divert the whole thread to Trump's tax returns. Liberals can't address issues because they lose just like Hilary. Hillary attacks without addressing any issues. Why? Because she did NOTHING in the last 30 years and now attempts to lie to America about how she wants to suddenly start doing something.

If this is truely an adult, and not some kid....and you believe this is all about how much tax Trump paid.....if you have no concern about the facts being presented, and will be...if a possible congressional investigation, not into how much taxes he paid, but serious involvement with Russia...and you think this is not an issue..

I guess you deserve the consequences of your words and actions.

Can you believe it? Someone actually posted a subject of substance and significance.

Now what will the BS distractors do because I am sure this was not on their daily puppet scripting.

How much stronger is the US military compared with the next strongest power?

1,000 times. Maybe more.

No other military or combination of militaries could even begin to inflict the slightest numbers of casualties on the United States military in a conventional war.

Consider: The U.S. spends close to what the entire rest of the world spends in defense. $711 billion. Per year. The next closest is China at $143 billion.

The M1 Abrams tank has seen more combat than just about any other tank on the battlefield today. It has never been knocked out by enemy fire. (Completely killed). Ever.

China has less than 500 Type 99 tanks, that have just been developed, and are not even close to being as good as the Abrams. We have 8,700 Abrams.

We have 10 aircraft carriers. The good kind. Everyone else has 10. Combined. And they are mostly small ships that can launch helicopters.

There are 8,400 attack helicopters in the world. The U.S. has 6,400 of them.

The United States has engaged in every type of ground warfare in the last 20 years. From mountains to jungles, and from desert to urban, we have the some of the most experienced warriors in the world. No other country comes close to the amount of combat veterans that we have.

We own all the satellites that guide GPS systems. We have all the advanced stealth technology. The latest sensors? U.S. The latest information systems? U.S. An Abrams tank can see a target, the tank commander can instantly send that target to every tank in his company.

Now you have 14 tanks looking for you. Oh, and it also uploads to every Apache helicopter in the area. Every indirect and direct fire system in the area knows what you are and where you are. Your survivability just dropped to 0. Instantly.
