Yes, the electoral votes are what count. And how do they determine electoral votes? By popular votes in that state. So, stay home by all means. It's a little late for you to complain now. I never liked Trump, but the more folks like you run your mouths, the more I am starting to warm to him. He already has my vote, by virtue of winning the nomination.

I don't see anything in the OP or the comments that follow that say or even imply "Don't vote." Nothing at all. What I read into it is "Be conscious of what the candidates say about each other THEN in contrast to NOW." Will it change anyone's vote? Probably not.

There are those who at least make the effort to be thoughtful about their vote by examining what is said about--and by--the various candidates. And then there are those who are tied by ball and chain to a particular party (no matter what party, it makes no difference) and vote solely by party, regardless of the qualities of the different candidates.

The bottom line is "Be sure to vote!"

No one is "tied to a ball and chain" but maybe one dedicates themselves to a certain ideology and votes the candidates that are closest to it in nature. Unlike liberals, I vote toward loyalty to my country, not toward what the gov can give me, via taking from one and sharing it with others. That's stupid anyway, when you consider how little that wealth is spread when the gov takes it from you. All it does is enlarge the gov, not help anyone else. The goal of the socialist/democrat party is to make us into a European socialist economy, which is a failure. The elite want to maintain their power by promising that socialist Utopia, that they can't deliver. What makes anyone believe that America is going to be able to do better with socialism than any other country that has failed?

I vote for the one that is closest to conservative as is available. If that is a wish-washy Trump, then that is still better than a socialist from the Democrat party. Especially one that lies, steals and is disloyal to those that work for her. And if any libertarian thinks that I would vote for a hippy in a suit, that is no better than a liberal, they are crazy. If I have a "ball and chain" attached, it is only to my values. Am I not open minded? Yes, open enough to see what socialist wish to do with our great nation. Open in that my eyes have been quite open from traveling the world most of my life and seeing it for myself. And I am not naive enough to pretend that our country can take a ancient system of socialism and make it successful in our country. We have the best in the world and it can always be tweaked, but we do not need to change it. Why fix it if it is not broken? Even with it's faults, it is better than ANY other country in the world. That is the reason why these kids have to go to college to get a high school education. It is amazing how many college students can't read or do basic math.

No, our country is not failing due to minorities. It's failing due to treating everyone that is "different" with kid gloves, coddling them, treating them special. Treat everyone equally and demand their best. No more excuses. Black is not stupid and "Asian" is not brilliant. One is allowed to be lazy and one is required to achieve. We have more blacks in jail than any other ethnicity because they commit crimes and are repeat offenders. They are not singled out over whites. We're a bully, not a cop. We come in and tell others what to do. They don't hate us because of OUR freedoms, they hate us because we take away THEIR freedoms. Corporations and banks move into 3rd world countries and pretty much take over. They "lend them money", which is really made up 0s and 1s in a computer, and then force demands. Our military enforces the banks and corporations demands. We're NOT governed by nice people. They're greedy psychopaths in search of money and power. I retired from the military, I KNOW what happens. No, the education system is failing because we're TRYING to mainstream minorities. I believe they are incapable of attaining high degrees of education. Sure, maybe one or two here and there, I'm talking generally, they're not capable and that is why standards have been going down since the 60s. It's why we're now #17 in the world and not #1. I remember the black kids in school growing up. Sat in the back, never said anything, failed a lot. They had the same opportunity, in the same class as us, they failed...why? Genes. Evolution.
