Funny how this thread has been hijacked to discuss size and effectiveness of a wall or not.

Isn't the issue, objective, intent to get control of the border?
Yes it is!

And the wall is just one element of that control and enforcement.

And for those who can get on the other side of what ever is put in front of them;
how well do you think you would fare getting into North Korea/ Russia/Mexico?

On Wednesday, a group of Republican national security community members, including former government officials, blasted the idea.

"Controlling our border and preventing illegal immigration is a serious issue, but his insistence that Mexico will fund a wall on the southern border inflames unhelpful passions, and rests on an utter misreading of, and contempt for, our southern neighbor," they wrote in an open letter.

It's always just a matter of finding the experts on-line and ignoring the self-proclaimed TOTV experts.

This is not cronyism as some claim but actually investigating Donald Trump's many impractical ideas.

I suggest that Mr Trump discuss the southern wall proposal with Mr Putin. The Soviet Union has experience in building walls to keep people in their country. Specifically, the Berlin wall was built to keep people from pursuing a better life in West Berlin. It, however, also inflamed unhelpful passion and resulted in Mr Reagan asking them to tear down that wall. Who in the future will want the USA to tear down that wall with Mexico?

And no one has yet explained how it is that they feel it to be impractical. Building the wall is simple. Negotiating for Mexico to pay for it, may be something a business expert may be able to accomplish. What was practical about flying to the moon? Now, it's history. Someday, the great Trump wall will be history. Some countries have enforced borders. Some don't. We have found out how much our porous border has cost us. I don't care who pays for the wall, I believe it to be a good idea. Will it keep ALL illegals out? Nope, but it will slow the flow. It will also make it easier for less border patrol to enforce the illegal invasion.

You can't build the wall without improving the roads. One of the problems with business moving to Mexico is the existing gates slow everything down trying to bring manufactured products into the US and the roads are poor.
Between the new roads and improved additional gates US businesses considering Mexico will also be motivated to encourage the wall.
With more manufacturing jobs in Mexico why sneak over to pick grapes.

Sounds like you are misinformed.

For example, illegal immigrants contribute a net $12 billion per year with no receipt of future benefits. That has worked out to $100 billion over the last 10 years. They are helping fund your retirement. Please do more research.

Two decades after the fall of communism, 35 per cent of the household wealth in Russia belongs to just 110 billionaires

That cannot be compared to us. " ‘The situation in Russia has no parallel’ says Anthony Shorrocks of Global Economic Perspectives, an author of the report. ‘If you look at how Russians have made their money and the sort of political ties that seem to be necessary to maintain it, there are just very few places where the situation is similar.’

Your point is:

1. Communism was good for Russia?

2. The 110 billionaires can help fund the wall?

3. That we can learn from them to keep from slowly equaling their income inequality?

Immigration statements | PolitiFact

Look at the fact checkers. And these people are not biased as Donald Trump claims. He is just a pathological liar.
