It appears the consensus is that Donald Trump cannot beat Hillary Clinton in the general election.

You mean apparition don't you?

March 2008 some had the same apparition!

By June she was blown out by an unknown black with questionable issues.

She was less tarnished of character back then.

Enjoy your self gratification.......in the meantime.

Even though I prefer Rubio over the other two candidates, I believe that if Rubio and Kasich would drop out, Cruz could beat Trump. Cruz can also beat Hillary according to the polls. Trump may not be able to beat Hillary. We do have to be realistic, and we may have to choose the less of evils. Out of Trump, Cruz, Hillary and Sanders, Cruz is the lesser of evils. Just being pragmatic. I do not like Cruz, but at least he IS a Constitutionalist. That is much more safer than an ignorant gambling businessman or one of two socialists. It is my opinion that this is not Rubio's time and he has been too damaged in this campaign to be a viable candidate. A brokered convention will only destroy the Republican party, which is a governor on the speed this country goes in the direction of socialism.

Listen up again. Hillary will be ruled out. I like Sanders but no way does he become President. Kasich is a good man but something is missing because he does not connect with the voter. Now take out Cruz because of two reasons, first he can't get along with many or any in our government and more importantly as a Constitutionalist don't you think he should sit down because he is not qualified because of his citizenship? Next the little instigator Little Marco, he is a disrespectful man who is trying to bait the candidate he is the most jealous of with his taunting of Trump. Rubio & Cruz both talk about the entrepreneurial spirit of their parents when they got started in this country and how far they have come yet criticize President Trump for the same spirit because he has had many business failures.
Take a minute and listen to Mark Cuban talk about the failures he has encountered on his way to becoming a billionaire it is very telling in that the entrepreneurial spirit expects failure of some businesses. These people are wired differently than us regular people. A failure to most people means stop trying because you may fail again, to them it means get up dust off try something different. Trump has used the LAW of the Bankruptcy courts of the USA to his advantage. Why wouldn't he? To impress someone? I don't think so. I think Trump is a good choice and if he isn't we'll give him the hook in 4 year's. With good behavior and a nice judge Hillary should be getting our rite about then. She can dust her morally bankrupt self off and run again...oops no felon's in the WH.

I thought you were kidding.
Trump asks rally attendees to swear to vote for him | TheHill

What past presidents or candidates have also asked for a pledge of allegiance?

I don't recall Obama ASKING for a pledge, but he sure had children singing songs about him in elementary school. And of course, the Germans loved him.

I haven't seen any proof of Cruz not being a citizen. Since half of what Trump says is BS, and he is the only one that suggested that Cruz is not legal, I think I'll wait until the jury returns a verdict or I see something substantial that shows that he might not be a citizen before I count him out. I don't care for either Trump or Cruz, but since my preferences have no chance at participating in the general election, I'll hold my nose and vote for Cruz, since between the two of them, he is more likely to beat Hillary. And Hillary has not been carted off to jail yet, and may not be until after the election. Then, Obama will surely pardon her and she will reign as the next tyrant-in-charge. Trump is still talking like a high school cyber bully, like a Democrat, and is not presidential at all. Of course, the present occupier in the White House is not presidential either, so that is not saying a whole lot. .

Because he wants to tax their imports?
Because he might cause more Muslim migration when we reject them from coming here?
Because he is not gay? ?????

Boy you folks have really had too much of the kool aid.

Trump cannot, nor will not get close to what you think he might

I they don't like Trump, in Germany, it is because he reminds them of a past leader of theirs that they would like to forget.

Now raise your hands and pledge your allegiance.

AS they say...."a sucker born every minute"

If when you look at this picture of him and his followers with their hands in a familiar angle to the sky, it should give you shudders.
