Default Will Pruitt and Marlene O'Toole for State Representative

I have been reading with much interest the publicity that Mr. Pruitt and Ms. O'Toole have been getting in the Daily newspaper and our homeowners' information brochures. Have decided to do some digging to see each one's crudentials and would suggest that all Village homeowners' who vote Republician do the same by visiting each candidate's website.

My first concern is with the fact that the surrounding properties of the Villages has Ms. O'Tooles signs on every corner but Mr. Pruitt was not allowed to place his signs on these properties. Could this be an attempt to encourage a self-serving outcome for this race??

Secondly, I have reviewed both candidates crudentials and it appears that Mr. Pruitt, although you do not see his signs on all the Village properties, is much more qualified to do the job that we Villagers, especially seniors, would look for in a candidate's qualifications.

Would like to solicit someone elses' comments on this choice that we are getting ready to make by August 26th.

Please cite some specific examples of how and why you think Mr. Pruitt is more qualified than Mrs. O'toole. Saying it is easy, proving it more important.

Also, how do you know that he has been denied permission to place his signs at any specific location. Please provide specific information on this.

This is a very important election and we need facts, not hyperbole

The poor man does not even know where he lives. I doubt anyone told him he could not place signs. Sorry but I have had a problem with him since he decided he was exempt from The Villages rules.

If you have not picked-up the POA (Property Owners Association) paper out of your driveway yet please do so. It just happens to have an article outlining the "Yellow" journalism The Villages Daily Sun has been involved in not only in this political race but in the past.

Ms. O'Toole has not addressed any important issues-at one meeting she stated "There is no I in team, I do whatever they want me to." That was in response to a question of what would the first piece of legislation she would attempt to introduce be if elected.

The whole objective now for the developer and "his people" is to assassinate the character of Mr. Pruitt.

Mr. Pruitt has a BA degree, 12 years in police work, Former police chief, former detective for Lake County, selected to the FBI national academy, Florida certified Sex crimes investigator, Florida certified Law enforcement office, Florida Certified Corrections Officer, Florida Certified Firearms Instructor, Lake-Sumter County Community College Board Member, Chairman of Early Learning Coalition of Lake County appointed by Governor Crist (which says enough for me as Governor Crist has done more for Florida than any other governor except Jeb Bush.) Lake County Childcare Providers Man of the Year 2006, etc.etc.etc.

If Governor Crist recommends this man, that is enough encouragement for me to vote for him.

I just checked Marlene O'Toole's crudentials on her website and I see nothing that she has done in the past except worked for IMB for 25 years - and belongs to Take Stock in Children program? What are her special qualifications for being our Republician Representative? It is hard to vote for someone who is just a friend of The Villages developers and doesn't have a mind of their own - only the developers- to help in making very important decisions as our State Representative.

If any of the Republicans need information before going to the polls this month, go to Will Pruitt's website and then visit Ms. O'Toole's and make your own decision.

I am not nor have ever been associated with Mr. Pruitt or Ms. O'Toole but have made a conscientous decision by doing my homework on the individuals that are running as candidates for our government offices.

Very important when our economy is in such a condition as it is presently.

Well, for one thing, O'Toole can spell --- it's "credentials". And in reading Mr. Pruitt' CV, it does not mention that the only reason he got any of those plush gubernatorial plums was that he is the baby brother of a prominent Republican state senator -- which might also explain some of his Tallahassee campaign contributions. Oh, and O'Toole doesn't seem to be having any trouble remembering where she lives and actually uses her correct address for voter registration and for homestead exemptions.

It is important to note here that at least one, maybe more, of the posters in this thread is a very close friend of Mr. Pruitt. As such, the posts by the person are not unbiased comments by interested individuals, they are "plants" by the candidate. This individual was warned in the past about not using this forum for political gains. This person has been trying to use Talk of The Villages for unpaid advertising as well, and has been warned twice.

I think this tell a story about the kind of people that the candidate is surrounded by.

Early voting for the August 26, 2008 Florida primary election starts on the 11th of August and runs through the 24th. http://election.dos.state.fl.us/ http://election.dos.state.fl.us/cand...d=20081104-GEN

It looks like the early voting runs only in Lake, Sumter, and Marion County from the 11th through the 23rd of August. http://election.dos.state.fl.us/pdf/...sPrimary08.pdf

A few FL counties do have it running through the 24th though just not the ones here around TV.

It's a shame that there is no sorting technique that would alert admin immediately to the same person posting under two or more identities. I know more than one hh member can sign up, but it would be nice to be able to stop trolls in their tracks..Oooo STITT..I like that!
