I tend to believe scientific consensus and not some loud mouths looking for TV rating boosts.

That video said temps rose 0.8 C between 1950 and 2010. Three questions ...

1. How much of that rise was due to "human" CO2 and how much was due to natural warming which has been happening since the Little Ice Age 300 years ago?

2. Why did the temperature graph "cool" from 1950 to 1975? What caused that cooling?

3. How much of the quoted 40% CO2 increase was from natural sources?

This is why Al Gore and his minions refuse to have a public debate. They only utter opinions (like this video) but no verifiable data. This is why "consensus" is never uttered in The Weather Club because Einstein said, "Genius abhors consensus because when consensus is reached, thinking stops."

Interesting to go back 30 years for a quote that would be hard to verify and may have been taken out of context. Nonetheless, I will guess that the meaning is that it is FINE and dandy for the population to KEEP going up and up. And I can't begin to imagine how that increase would equate to. " Cooling is coming" as was stated as the premise of the thread? There was a RAT experiment in psychology where rats were kept well fed but more and more rats were placed into an enclosure. As the rat density increased, there developed "bullying rats" and submissive rats. Then strange behavior problems. Then ulcers and other health problems. And finally, all got sterile and violent. Then they all died out. It seems to me that if human population kept going up that wars would occur which would INCREASE gas and oil consumption and increase CO2 emission and further heat the planet. Then when
humans were done "nuking" each other, any that survived would be driven back into the stone age. And maybe then that. " Colling is coming" would finally happen.

Agreed. Very much EXACTLY what I have been saying.

"Nuclear winter cooling" is another fake, scare-mongering term echoed by Carl Sagan, just like his "Runaway Greenhouse Effect." The Runaway Greenhouse scare will be discussed at the January Weather Club meeting -- and shown to be based on junk science. And about that cooling "would finally happen" -- just why has it been cooling for the past 7 years?

Einstein would not debate general scientific principles of observations by many people getting conclusions based on sound logic.

Some climate deniers have simply thrown out logic for debates you might find in college dorm late at night.

Because if you picked any other timeframe the data would show warming. Cherry picking data is evidence of confirmation bias, nothing else.

Personally speaking. I would not have the temerity to knock a genius like Carl Sagan. I would knock George Washington for losing a few battles BEFORE I would say ONE bad word about Carl Sagan. Next someone will say that Nikolai Tesla was NOT very smart. And Socrates stuttered too much. And Joan of Arc was a hippy! It seems like some people want to knock Carl Sagan, Al Gore, and Dr. Fauci. Who is next - Winston Churchill?

The last 7 OUT OF 8 years have been record WARMING, NOT cooling. Pakistan is practically underwater from tropical rains. Living coral is dying rapidly. Europe is in a drought and crops are failing. Google Earth Sky for an article titled," Aug 2022 Drought Around the World in Dramatic Images". There is a world map showing drought in the Horn of Africa. (That is affecting 22 million people and many will try to get to Europe) There is drought in China. Also other parts of Africa. Rivers are drying up in Europe. The whole map of the earth shows Global Warming happening right now. The conclusion is unavoidable!

Dr Fauci did NOT lie. The Pandemic was NEW and unique so the medical knowledge CHANGED as new scientific facts came in. Fauci was the main spokesman for Pandemic knowledge as it came AVAILABLE. So, of course if someone compared an EARLIER Fauci statement with a statement 6 months later and some TV host showed one a current video clip, and then compared it to an earlier Fauci video clip it might appear that Fauci lied, when in fact, he did not. He was a spokesman about CHANGING INFORMATION so naturally, he changed with each new piece of knowledge. Fauchi had about a 60 year history of service to medical science. HISTORY will remember him well, and so will I. He was also a good basketball player in College. (a little known fact)

The last 7 years of the Gulf of Mexico WARMING was pretty important to the many Floridians living in Fort Meyers Beach that either DIED or lost homes during Hurricane Ian. So, I am suggesting, that whether a short warming period IS important depends on who you are, where you are, and when you are somewhere.

Check out the website that shows the increases in temperature since the advent of the Industrial Revolution. It's an incremental process. If you don't see it, it's because you're not paying attention or simply ignoring it. And it doesn't have to increase that much to cause disastrous effects.
