Is it ever going to rain again?
The non sprinkler areas of The Villages are beginning to resemble a desert. Please pray for rain.

Or find a few well endowed topless females to bay at the moon. That works about 72% of the time

Don't know about causing it to rain, but it does make me smile. 😀

While we're praying to Mother Nature to move the strawberry harvest season to May, when the snowbirds return north...
Let's add in a prayer for her to bring us rain, for 1 hour every night, randomly between the window of 11:45pm and 3:30am. |

Guess the OP hasn't lived here long. We're in the dry season....soon enough it will become the rainy season!! Rain every day as well as HOT, HUMID (emphasis on humid) weather that will take his breath away when he steps outside. We live for Fall, sometimes winter and spring here! More temporate and tolerable (at least for me).

I would love to see some rain.....as soon as possible. The ponds are so dry and the trees must be stressed. This is too long without rain! It's creepy!

There is no such thing as a normal or perfect day. Climate is the average of floods, droughts, heat waves, and freezing cold. Recent weather is well within the norms for this time of year. Remember, central Florida's dry season ends after May. Also ... Mother Nature tries to balance weather events. Right now, the western U.S. is getting the very wet season. Our turn is coming. Plus this is the subject of the March talk at the Weather Club, Mar 16, at 1:30 PM, at Laurel Manor.

Ditto. And then some will say ... when will the rain stop. It's a shame the schools don't teach basic climate science. There is nothing scary about our climate. The scary part is what the media (like the Weather Channel) refrain from discussing.

Really ? We are originally from south Florida (yep, natives), but been here a LONG time now, seems pretty normal "winter" to me in central Florida... take heart, we are nearing the "monsoon" season....LOL. Just like we have some "winters" here where the temps can fall to the 30's for a few (very few !) days, a few winters can be a little drier than others... but over time, it all works out... just like everywhere. SNOW in southern California may be a natural blessing that renews the drinking water, or irrigation water, supply. Just remember... it all evens out, somehow, it always has.

Some years I’ve witnessed people mowing the grass where Lake Paradise was. Thing will work out well, they always do. Next problem coming is sink holes when the rain starts coming heavily! It a cycle that repeats itself all over Florida from what I understand?

Best time of the year, May thru September. The reason why we moved to Florida.
Worst time of the year, December thru February. Way too cold ( and crowded ). |
