Several are out here, too because for some reason paranoid people think that they need to top off their half filled tank to STAY HERE. If people wouldn't be such hoarders, then the people who have to evacuate could actually find gasoline.

You got to set back and wonder why at 9pm are there 30 plus cars at neighborhood Walmart pumping 4 gallons of gas.would have only been 3 gallons but the wait burned up a gallon

You may find this hard to believe, but some people got gas yesterday because....they needed gas. True story.

As someone who always got his gas at Costco up north, I was used to to the wait. I figured it was always like that at Sam's

I waited to gas up my GC cause it was empty. Bad news was only premium fuel was left. The good news when I figured out how many MPG my golf cart got it was 52 Miles to gallon. No to worry the lawn mower engine will run just fine on premium octane gas.

We just left PDQ, cut through past Walmart no idea if store was packed, but one would have thought gas was free for the amount of cars waiting on the road to turn in. Normally @ 9ish there isn’t a sole in the store or station.

It’s not necessarily “hoarding” - it’s precautionary. As a Florida native, gassing up your car before a storm is prudent. When Andrew slammed into Homestead in ‘92, we were without power for 2 weeks (as were all the gas stations), & gas trucks didn’t get into the area for nearly 3 weeks. The people who filled up their tanks in advance were smart!

How did a full tank of gas help during those three weeks?
- If power was out then stores were closed so no place to go anyway
- If the gas was used to go to an area that had power then that area had gas too

I wouldn't ride out a storm with just a 1/4 tank but I wouldn't feel the need to top off a 3/4 tank.

Default Gas available

The speedway at 470 and hwy 27 in Leesburg has unleaded gas. Not crowded. Price is 2.99 gallon. Location is south of the 470/hwy 27 intersection on right side in Winn Dixie shopping center.

The turnpike service center also has gas.... From the south get on at 470 take turnpike north. Service plaza is left exit. Get gas head north to 301 exit to get back to villages. From the north get on going south at from 301, service plaza is left exit. Get gas, exit going south get off at 470 turn left to get back to villages/Meggison rd.

No need to panic but thought I would pass the info along. Information is 20 minutes old. Got gas this morning.

Like BJs sam’s club and Walmart sells gas at discount. They’re busy regardless. Not worth it to me to be paid member and drive way out of my way for gas when I put more miles on my golf cart than my car.

In case of emergency 1/4 tank won’t get you very far with heavy traffic and conditions of roads. Especially if don’t have fuel efficient vehicles. I use have big ford truck with two tanks (why two tanks? So you could go almost same distance as normal vehicle) I could see gas gage down down going 10 miles. Large SUVs not much better than 10 miles to gallon.

I have a mid size SUV & get pretty good mileage on the highway, of course the traffic on the highway has to be moving.
