I have a rain gauge and it registered 1 inch here in Duval. Last night ( Thursday) we received a little over 1/4 inch and a lot of wind

That seems very high since we only got about 2 inches with Hurricane Ian.

Does anyone have a rain gauge? If so, what is the general area where you live (I have read that rain fall can vary greatly within a few miles) and how much rain did you get? I am interested to see what the variation is in the Villages.

Thanks.
In Orange Blossom a 1/4 inch or so. More wind than rain. Now the rain we got the other day, Tuesday afternoon I think. We received about 1 1/2 inches. According to the rain gauges I have, one in front and one in back.

According to my rain gauge we have gotten just under 3” in the 3 days of rain in the Woodbury section of The Villages. That is the southern portion of Marion County.

I went out and checked our rain gauge just now. Someone put catsup in it. I will not buy another home on the golf course.

From some other posts about what people do on the golf courses, you are lucky it was just catsup!

So the 3 plus inches that was shown on my phone seems to be an accurate number (near Sawgrass). I have also noticed that the retention ponds are a little higher today - but still very low.
There is a significant variation in rain here. Up in prairie country a weather front can span three states and produce deluges spanning easily the width of Florida or better. Here, it can rain like crazy with no warning while a mile away--nothing, or a black cloud can sit ominously on the horizon for the better part of two days and not produce much of anything except an occasional lightning flash.

Takes some getting used to.

At our home, North of 466, we had some very small hail with a few larger (nickel sized) stones mixed in. Other than a few leaves damaged, I did not see any other damage. I was somewhat concerned about my exposed car, but it seems to have managed unscathed.
