In about 45-70,000 years. Since the current ICE AGE began 4.5 million years ago, we have had cycles of glaciation and interglacial thaws lasting 60-100,000 years. This has repeated at least a dozen times since the last time the poles were ice free. The current thaw began about 20,000 years ago, and we are still on the warming curve. in about 20-25,000 years the temp will peak, and yes, our coastal cities will be under water, but NOT because Fred Flintstone drove a SUV or JD Rockefeller hit oil, unless anyone is naive enough to believe we have hit our current level of technology a dozen times in the last 4.5 million years and then wiped ourselves out with internal combustion engines. (but there are probably some climate change nut jobs that believe that). After that peak, we will cool again and 40,000 years or so later our northeastern coastal cities will once again be covered by 2 miles of ice. Eventually, this cycle will be broken by forces more powerful than man. The last gargantuan shift in climate occurred due to the rise of the Rocky and Himalayan mountains about 70 million years ago, so that now our planet is about 10 degrees cooler than it was then.

But then again, according to a previous post, I don't "understand" this subject

Records were meant to be broken. Except perhaps Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak.

Gotta love infraction clickbait threads that generate ToTV ad revenue. On a limb but "golfingeagles" has it right. The earth has its own historical and future track of hot/cold changes. Always has and always will. Put politics, $k-ching, and freedom on the line and you have a great text book history lesson kind of movie for future generations to eat pop-corn at while they enjoy the slow burn of present day humanity.

Even IF, and it's a HUGE IF, human activity was partially responsible for changing the climate, we don't have the technology to do anything meaningful to "combat" the power of the sun, Earth's orbit or changes in Earth's axis. So......who would benefit from this folly????? We know one that benefitted from this garbage 20 years ago----can anyone spell Solyndra????? And we can make good guesses as to who will continue to cash in as well.

Bloomberg controls 70% of the media. We see what he and his party wants us to see and read

Excellent.

Media, however it is defined, is merely passing along what passes for information from one person to another. Or, as in today, from one person to about thirty million others. But it is nothing more than that. What is interesting is how "media" functioned throughout history and there are an uncomfortable number of parallels with what is happening today.

One of my favorite examples is the Crusades. One of the primary reasons for the Crusades was not so much to spread the word of the Christian God and free Jerusalem from the infidel, but to secure trade routes for the powers-that-were in Europe at the time. Crusades of course demand soldiers, and soldiers need to be motivated. Dunno about the rest of you, but "God wills it!" seems to be much more motivating than "Let's secure those trade routes!"

It is no different today. Emotion sways far more people, unfortunately, than does reason.

Default Warmer a 1000 years ago

Norway's melting glaciers continue to reveal incredible archaeological finds. Now, evidence of a Viking settlement high up in the Norwegian mountains has been discovered and dated by archaeologists.

Discovered in June 2021.
Testing of the charcoal confirmed there had been centrally-placed hearths inside, and also allowed radiocarbon dating. All five samples sent were dated to between the years 750 and 1150, covering the full timeline of the Viking Age.

It must’ve been much warmer back, than for them to be living there before the glaciers came. How can that be, there were no cars heating up the atmosphere then?

histrionic scientists looking for funding research projects talk about the historical rise in temperature.

The earth's wobble in many orbital and spinning dimensions might have something to to with the warming. . .

There is still time to panic though

It is a conspiracy. I have seen/experienced far too many 500 year weather events and floods. These “accu weather” people are conspiring to make me feel really old.

You're certainly aware of the serious damage to coral reefs in the last decade, from a tiny change in ocean temperature. The pH of oceans is slightly becoming more acidic which will seriously disrupt the life of sea organisms which must have pH in a very narrow range, just like humans. Your blood pH should be 7.4 At 7.0 you are likely dead. Tiny changes.

So be snarky about snowbirds and heating costs, but the rate of change in the global temperature is very dramatic and the whole world's scientific community with the exception of a few owned by Koch Industries and the GOP are uniform in their assessment.

When Golfing Eagles, who should understand how to read a scientific report doesn't immediately understand that there was no collection of data on the subject of mean daily global temperature before 1979 and immediately jumps to the conclusion that there is a media conspiracy to indoctrinate us rather than getting exactly what the data says, that is scary.

This is a very clear, easily understood, story. The highest ever recorded, no records of this data set exist prior to 1979. Simple, a caveman should be able to grasp and not misconstrue. His sentence claiming that

GE is 100% completely wrong. It was not hotter on a day 44 years ago than it was yesterday. Those of us who accept the science are not the misguided ones. Only GE seems to not understand that the phrase since 1979 does not mean it was hotter in 1978. And he came here to pontificate and rail about media collusion when in reality, REALITY, is just GE doesn't understand what his mind is unable to accept.

When you are told the temperatures are changing in an unprecedented fashion, ignore people here and on some media who lie to you. Here is the graph of the last 2000 years. See anything unusual at the right side, the last few years. Yes, proven global warming never seen in historical times.

And the last 1/2 century, since the increase in industrialization, burning carbon fuels has the most dramatic pattern.
"those of us who accept the science" give me a break, and I'm sure you got your vaccines and wore your mask like a good little sheeple too...so tired of self-absorbed self predicated terms..

Until..... you click on it and find out it was the hottest global temperature since 1979

In other words, for all the misguided climate change believers out there, IT WAS HOTTER ON A DAY 44 YEARS AGO THAN IT WAS YESTERDAY. So much for the inexecrable temperature rise that is steadily leading us to extinction.

Yet, the media and those in power that will benefit from spending $100 TRILLION on this folly just go merrily along pushing their false narrative. But what's worse is that the force can have a profound effect on the weak-minded.
Glad to see someone gets it! Yep, most all main stream media push their deceptive, usually misinformed narratives. We are actually entering an ice age, if you follow the “real” science.
On another note, everyone should watch and promote the film, “Sounds of Freedom”. It exposes the human trafficking, that has been covered up for many years, by the MSM and political leaders.

Any chance you have some links to that "real" science?

Even the climate-change deniers will wsay we are warming because we are *leaving* an ice age. Sounds like you may have a set of alternative facts.
