I've played golf (18 holes walking) with a heat index of 103/104 ... but 126?

Did people actually go outside today?

It was hot but I’m not sure it got that hot. I was out most of the day, not playing golf, and it felt like a normal summer day. Hot and sticky.

I was outside lots, because it wasn't that hot. First of all, the 105 temperature is bogus. My thermometer max was only 95, which matched the closest official NWS sensor at Leesburg ... Aviation Weather Center Furthermore, the heat index was only 99 degrees. Most importantly, this heat is primarily the result of Tonga volcano. And guess what -- it's been hotter in the past, when CO2 was much lower.

My Tempest weather station had a short spike of 101 with a heat index of 117 but stayed around 96 with a 101 heat index late afternoon.

At 10 pm, temp is 86 with a heat index of 97.

Exactly right - it is the hottest in recent history - but not for the full historic record. It's now hot for 3 reasons (and none are CO2 related). 1. The AMO (Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation) is still in its warm phase. 2. Sunspot cycle #25 is peaking. 3. Last and most important is the unprecedented amount of water vapor (earth's primary greenhouse gas) that the Tonga volcano ejected into the stratosphere - 10 miles up and higher - which is causing an unprecedented global warming spike as seen in attached satellite temperature graph. Is your temperature sensor at least 100 feet from building or pavement and about 3 meters above the ground? These are official NWS temperature observation siting rules -- which many official NWS observation sites fail to follow and thus read too hot -- which is why the climate crisis claim is bogus. What website was that from?? My weather app and thermostat were both under 100 for the day. Screenshot says 95 for high. I saw people playing golf in afternoon. I don’t think they would be playing if index were 126 degrees.

Ditto. Leesburg airport reported a max of 95 with heat index of 99. I also saw golfers today. It was another beautiful day in The Villages.

Last year, summer was washed out with El Niño, this year the Jet Stream is too far south, and temperatures struggle to get into the 60's during day, and drop into the 40's at night.
Plus, we now have the Wimbledon effect, and it's bl**dy raining most days!

The 105 was most likely the “feels like” temp

It’s the “feels like” temp that you need to be careful of. The humidity here is no joke and will get you when you least expect it. They have issued heat advisories the past few days and though I didn’t spend much time outdoors, it’s been fairly overcast which has made it tolerable.

That's exactly what it means, and it is no different for thousands of years. There will always be a "hottest summer" of the last 30,100,500, or 2000 years---until there is another one. There will also always be a coldest summer as well. What I object to is the subliminal messaging now incorporated into the TV weather reports. If the high for the day is predicted to be 96 or 97, they report that as "near 100+". If the high is only 88, they report the "heat index" will be 100, and put up the area map showing heat indices rather than actual temps. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it certainly looks like the MSM is either actively or passively pushing the fallacious "climate change" agenda.
