Weather forecast
Is there any accurate weather forecast source for The Villages? I have checked "The Weather Channel", "WESH2","The Daily Sun" and "WVLG" and still find it amazing that the weather experts are seldom correct. Any suggestions?

Closest I’ve found is the app “weatherbug”.

I know....no rain yesterday and the radar on the weather channel showed no rain here today so we uncovered the patio furniture. Not 5 mins later it rained but at least it didn't last long.
I can't figure it out. It's almost like the skies are laughing at us. I feel bad for the town entertainers. |

Who is the Villager who was a better forecaster during Irma than the Pros? It began with a T.

One of the most difficult things to predict is the weather because of all the possible combinations of events. My brother has a staff at a university that bought the supercomputer that used to be used by NASA, the university wanted it in part for weather forecasting. At the time it was the largest supercomputer in the world.

I've always said since moving here "Wish I could find a weatherman with an office that has a window..... he'd be more accurate than most!" Like they say "It's Florida"

Back home, a front would come through, and it would rain (or snow) for maybe a day. The front would pass, and the weather cleared. That's not what happens here.
On the Florida peninsula, showers pop up somewhat randomly. The weather forecasters just say something like "30% coverage" for rain, meaning that at any given time, about 30% of the area is getting rain. Where that 30% area is, is constantly shifting. No one can tell you when it will rain in your backyard. |

WVLG used to have retired meteorologists on the station, but now the people reading the Orlando weather report as our report are useless.

I like "My Radar" app.

Agree. For the immediate few upcoming hours, you can’t really beat a radar app.
For further out forecasting, I find the Weather Channel app to be at least in the ball park most of the time. Consistent precision is not attainable imho. |

This guy should get paid. Tuccillo, just the greatest.
The guy on Wesh 2 Cracks us up. He should get an Academy Award for his Theatrics During a weather event. Nice guy but talk about giving me just the FACTS. HE HAD US MORE UPSET THAN THE STORM DID. We like Accuweather the best and anything except Wesh or sorry to say, The Villages Weather Report on the radio. Thanks, FW your the bestest! |
