Default Replacing Glass Sliding Lanai Doors

In the market to replace 2 standard sized 6’ glass sliding doors. One has broken seal foggy window/ other has rust from pool and just weather & aged from 1997. So I called ROMAC $8000 quote shock for 2 basic no blinds in glass doors installed in block home. Thought that was a steep price.
Any suggestions where else to call maybe outside TV area other than big box stores?

Go to Google maps, type in sliding glass doors in the search field, and there were several results, I cannot make any recommendations as we still have our original units.

If it was me I just measure and replace them myself. Not like you got to reframe the opening. Just remove the locks lift them out. Put in the new ones and lock down. Providing you’re strong enough to do it. If not get several estimates.

If you’re going have frames torn out and replaced that not going to be cheap.

That sounds high but consider the stucco is finished after the door frame is in. Removal of the frame will probably require a sub contractor to repair and finish any stucco damage plus trim and paint on the interior not to mention flooring. I have taken one of those slider frames out of a villages home and let me tell you they put them in there to stay. As I tell my wife occasionally “ nothing happens in construction like it does in an office”

Try Window World (Ocala). The in-laws had new sliders installed. The doors and the job WW did are outstanding.

if you have an enclosed lanai and you remove your sliding/patio doors leading into the lanai, you will then be taxed for the size of your lanai. 2 things make your lanai an added addition to your home tax bill: adding a ac/heating system and removing the doors.
