Default Spanish Springs Square

I was just on the SS camera and I see this yellow fence around the view that I have.

Does anyone know what they are doing there?

Are the merchants still there on Monday and Wednesday?

Thanks,
Z

Been watching it for a bit....looked like sidewalk work from watching the webcam. Haven't been to the square to see in real time.

It's been going on since about Oct 1. They are putting in the same pavers they used in the dance area around the outside except on the corners. Looks like it will be finished by the end of the week. Yes Market night has been going on as usual except they are moving the vendors around as needed.

When we were in TV a couple of weeks ago a vendor at SS told me they had really taken a hit with the construction and this summer's bad weather. I couldn't believe how much they had to pay for their space on vendor night! I don't know how they break even.

One of the vendors is a friend of mine. He claims that he makes $100,000 a year from his little business.

It looks nicer with the newer sidewalk. If only, they would finish the Sharon Morse Performing Arts Center, there would be more space to park. At least, initially.

Anyone know when that completion date is?

The vendor told me the rent was $600 for 4 nights. I can see some vendors making a profit but not all.

Is that just at the squares or does that include other venues? I know a lot of these vendors also have booths at the Markets of Marion.

According to the UF College of the Arts newsletter the opening is expected to be February. 2015.
