Default Yamaha Quiet Tec - clunking/knocking noise

Hello all - we have a 2018 Yamaha Quiet Tec which is now making a clunking/knocking noise when accelerating. The sound seems to be coming from under the central part of the cart, as opposed to the front or rear axles. Any thoughts please just in case it could be a quick fix for hubby to do before calling out Golf Cart Company? Many thanks

Two things quickly come to mind as possible causes. Has the drive belt ever been replaced? Have the primary and secondary clutches been lubricated on an annual basis (a squirt or two of grease in each grease fitting)?

IMO no way knowing unless you see something unusual/loose or not right. Could be bottom panel vibrating? But, somebody with some knowledge has look at it and see if they spot something? My cart makes some unusual noise and most time it’s something simple like seat belt rattling or something in over head compartment rattling around. On time my seat belt got under the lift up seat and banging around on engine, that could been disastrous?

I just had a similar experience, in my case the secondary clutch failed. You do not want to drive the cart if you do additional damage can occur. The repair was around $500.
In my case I was driving the cart, heard a loud clunk and the cart immediately had a vibration. There was very slow acceleration from a stop. I managed to go about 1/2 mile back to the house and parked the cart.
