Default I won!

Looks like we'll be ordering a new Yamaha gas cart from TV in the next few days. There are some obvious options but can you share some that maybe are "not so obvious" but you find very useful and helpful? Thanks for your great ideas! We are probably only going to have one cart and I don't want to wish we'd opted for something because we didn't think about it!

Some thoughts on options for your Yamaha cart:

- We like the woodgrain dash option as it provides locks for the two glove boxes.

- If you golf, this one might not have a ton of appeal. We don't golf (at least at this juncture) so we bought a locking storage trunk that's a Yamaha product. Fits in the bag well in the back of the cart: http://www.yamahagolfcar.com/accesso..._consoles.aspx It's fairly easily to remove to allow you to use the bag well for golf bags. As an aside, I know someone in TV who has one ( I think he still has it) that he'd like to sell for a very reasonable price. He didn't use to golf, now he does.

- After the fact, we bought and installed a rear storage tray. Great for jackets, etc.

- Also got an 'oversized' cooler that's able to handle larger plastic water/pop bottles, not just 12 oz. cans.

- Got a speedometer, too.

The prior three items can be seen here: http://www.cartsandclubsocala.com/Accessories.htm Click on 'View Cart Accessories'.

- We liked the extra visibility offered by the 3rd brake light/turn signal bar for the rear roof.

Ok. You got my interest up. I don't play golf so I was wondering what is a sand bottle used for and don't try to tell me it's for added traction when it snows.

Thanks, Jim

In addition to all the above, how about a large mesh tote bag for the rear, and a 12 volt outlet. We also got the Elite seats and love them, though they can be pricey.

No, not for snow traction. A sand bottle holds the sand that a golfer pours into a divot in the turf. The sand supposedly provides a base upon which the turf eventually spreads and takes root.

Default Sand Bottle?

I use that nice sand to fill up an ash tray for the butts of my smoking guests!

Clarification: For their cigarette butts, correct?

Get the larger rectangular mirrors that mount on the outside of the frame. They'll know what you're talking about. We got ours from Villages Golf Cart Store.

I went to the Villages and got a quote for a refurbished 2008 stripped down cart. It was a yahama gas cart. I then went to Gramma and Grampas Village Buggies on 441 and got a quote for a "pimped Up" refurbished 2008 that was $3000 cheaper. It has quite a bit of bells and whistles on it and it is quieter. smells bettr and really sharp. We have not regretted getting it for one day. Do your homework. ENJOY
