I posted the following yesterday and one vendor responded. Then the thread was locked and I am not sure why. So I am posting a new thread. Any other responses to this question below is greatly appreciated.
![]() We will be purchasing an electric golf cart in the next two weeks. We are trying to decide between Club Car, Yamaha, and EZ-Go. Any recommendations are things we should consider? We plan to use it for golf and for rolling around The Villages. |

I prefer Club Carts, however which ever make you choose be sure it is equipped with
8= 6 Volt batteries. You will get 1/3 more distance than you would with 6=8 volts or 4-12 volt models. Also it should have an automatic battery filler system installed. |

The replies in ask an expert section are limited to the established golf cart business expert. If you are seeking general opinions from the full membership, the all about golf carts forum is a better choice. Thread will be moved.

If I were to buy an electric cart it would be AC EZGO no doubt. Take on for a test drive and you won't look at DC carts again.

I read your post and you are responding to my answer as a vender responding. The fact is that this area of TOTV is assigned for us as the moderator for "ASK THE EXPERT A QUESTION". As you can see this question you have asked has many opinions that should not be posted in this area,it is reserved for an expert opinion.
Our invitation to our showroom was for your behalf to give you the facts to your questions Without opinions that would offend other dealers. If however you prefer to post your question in the general area of TOTV your welcome to do so and it will not be a reflection to our comments & recommendations |

I assume that is because of the ability of it to climb hills, no? Any of the brands OP mentioned will get the job done. OP seems to like electric and that is okay. 8 6 volt batteries will get you 50 miles and better and the automatic water filler is an excellent idea. OP if you are full-time----electric is a good choice, however, if snowbird type of owner you might want to revisit your choice. I know of several part time TV owners who had to replace their batteries because of the heat in garage and cart not driven regularly during the summer months. Personally, I prefer club car and I have a gas cart after having to replace my batteries way too soon. Good luck and good shopping.

Whenever I've asked the golf cart mechanics, the advice has never varied: Club Car for electric and Yamaha for gas has been their recommendations every time. That doesn't mean other carts aren't good, just that these two seem to be the best for their respective types.

Thank you for the follow up clarification. I appreciate that. I am learning my way through the forums and what is the appropriate protocol for soliciting answers to questions. Thanks again.
