Not a good solution to pushing the range of electric carts. That will end up increasing the cost of the rescue service for all subscribers including gas cart owners. Makes one wonder if the cart rescue service will start risk pricing customers and charge more for electric cart owners and within electric carts charge more for electric carts with older batteries or old battery technology?

If the batteries were low, yes. If the charger were at a store or restaurant, absolutely.

This is an opportunity for a a business to set up pay as you go charging and parking. If you build it, they will come.

How far are you going? I have a 24 year old Club Car with 4 LiFePO4 12v batteries and can go from the bottom of TV to Lady Lake and back again without needing a recharge. I still get a kick out of all the gas carts I see broken down by the side of the paths but have never seen an electric one that ran out of juice. Gas carts are ridiculous in this day and age. All those parts that need service and can cause break-downs. What a pain having to go to the gas station or storing gas in your garage. Forget "range anxiety", you can go all day without worry.

I love having an electric cart, can’t stand the smell if gas. You can go pretty far on a full charge. But we have brought our portable charger with us. Once in Spanish Springs, we were getting low, we asked a retailer who had an outlet out back if we could plug in, they said of course sure no problem. We even offered them a few dollars but they wouldn’t have it.

A while ago there was talk of The Villages putting in multiple charging station…. Would be nice to see that come through.

I have an EZGO and have traveled 60 miles on a charge. Still was in the green so had a few miles to spare. That’s far enough for me. 😎

Battery carts are old technology and wouldn’t touch those. Gas is the way to go. I can bring a gallon of gas with me and fill my gas tank in a couple of mins, faster than an electric cart to unravel their power cord after finding a place to plus it in (good luck) and then spending hours charging it.
Do people actually think that an electric cart won’t break down? Most of a golf cart have the same type of pieces: axles, tires, ignition, etc…
Why aren’t lithium battery owners bringing up the big issue and that is before 8 years of use, you know I’ll be throwing away the lithium batteries (toxic waste) and buying new batteries that can cost $2,000-$4000 depending on size. My gas cart, can get rebuilt for a few hundred $$$ and run like new again.
I can’t stand the smell of an electric cart!
