Default Which Gas Cart to Buy

I would like some advise as to what model gas cart to buy (Club Cart or Yamaha). I want to make a good choice with no regrets. I would like to hear from all you gas cart owners. Let me know what you like about your cart and what you don't like.

Thank you.

Stick with the big 3 Yamaha, Club Car or EZ Go. The new Yamaha EFI are a little quieter and have less fumes. It is also the most expensive.

Doing a personal unscientific survey I'd say Yahama outnumbers all other brands by a large margin. As far as gas carts I believe the Yahama is the leader. I've had mine over 3 years, put over 4,000 miles a year on it and it's totally reliable. I have it serviced once a year and just put gas in it to keep it going. I get 44.5 mpg on regular gas.

We are on our third cart since 2006. First had a Par Car, then a Polaris. Decided a gas cart would be the best considering the size of this growing community. Bought our Yamaha from Carts and Clubs in Ocala. Try them all, go for a test drive, ask friends who own gas carts why they bought the model they have.
We love our Yamaha from C&C in. Ocala.

I test drive the E-Z Go & Yamaha are the two I test drove. I bought the Yamaha it was a smoother & quieter ride.

The better question is which of these carts holds up best?

I know you asked for owners, but thought I would chime in from the repair aspect.

Club car and Yamaha are really the only 2 you want to concider. Your not going to go wrong with either one. Both motors hold up very very well. Other componets hold up equally as well and have a good life span. The New club car for village use speed wise is difficult to make go fast, so you may only have one to choose from if you want to exceed the maximum limit for a golf car.

Recently, At least 3 Local cart dealers (that sell both Club Cars and Yamaha), when pressed for their preference, have said that the Club Car is a better gas cart and would be their choice.

That somewhat shocked me because I see more Yamahas on the streets, but maybe that's because of the proximity of the Yamaha dealerships.

Yamaha EFI would be my recommendation but test drive various brands to re-enforce your decision. For me, my Yamaha EFI has been very reliable.

I have owned a Yamaha but currently own a Club Car. I prefer a Club Car. I have also been told by independent dealers who sell and maintain both that a Club Car is a better cart. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Haven't heard the SPEED issue mentioned before regarding Club Cars.
Any additional insight on this issue?

We are opting for the Yamaha EFI. It seems to me (and I stand corrected) that Yamaha has better resale value over Club Car.

I have a Club Car here in Alberta which is ok, but comparing it to carts that other cart owners have here, I find that the Yamaha has an edge. Although top speed is good, the Club Car is slow to pick up speed.

Also I have spoken to those who have owned Yamaha and either Club Car or EZgo and they all say that Yamaha is better.
