What is the best product for cleaning golf cart windshield?

I use vinegar and water (50/50) and a microfiber cloth. I then use turtle wax on the window so the water beads up during rain ( info given to me by villages golf cart store)

Dish soap and water.

Remember that the windshield is plastic and some commercial glass cleaners have chemicals that can blur, scratch, or craze plastic.

Go to a Harley dealer and get the cleaner they have for plastic windshields. I think it's called Novus. Removes scratches and swirls and makes it look new again. More of a plastic polish than a cleaner but it's crystal clear when finished.

The windshields are much softer than you think. I destroyed one by trying to remove sticker adhesive with a cleaner and paper towels.

Now, I only use Pledge type wax and a terry cloth, cotton towel. That works great.

Have used Lemon Pledge on all of my aircraft windows for the past 40 years. Now use it on my golf cart windows.

The product that we use and sell for both windshields and the plastic eisinglass on enclosures is "Klear Clean".
It cleans and removes most scratches.

I worked in the plastics industry before I retired and we recommended using Novus products for cleaning acrylics.
Never use window cleaner with alcohol in it on acrylics.
Always use a microfibre or very soft cloth.

Soap, water and a clean towel is all you need. As to the harley person...any motorcycle dealer will have that stuff...

I was told by a Carts and Clubs service man to use ammonia-free Windex and it works wonderfully. Oh, and I only use a micro-fiber cloth.

Cleaning Acrylic

The best way to clean acrylic is with a specialty cleaning product such as Novus No.1 or Brillianize. NEVER use window cleaning fluids with ammonia (such as Windex or Formula 409), gasoline, denatured alcohol, carbon tetrachloride, or acetone, which will cause the acrylic to craze with minute cracks. A mild solution of soap or detergent and water can also be used safely.

Begin by gently blowing away any loose dust or dirt from the acrylic’s surface.

Apply the specialty cleaning product (or soap and water solution) with a dampened non-abrasive/non-contaminating/lint-free soft cloth, microfiber cloth or cellulose sponge.

Rinse well with clear, clean water.

Blot dry with a chamois, damp cellulose sponge or microfiber cloth to prevent water spotting.

Note: Grease, oil and tar may be removed with a good grade of hexane, naptha or kerosene. Be sure to wash these solvents off quickly to prevent damage to the acrylic.

I have used Pledge with good results, but Rain-X now makes a product specifically for plastics...and it works fantastic for repelling water.

Since most golf carts don't have wipers, it's wonderful to be able to see perfectly because the water forms large beads that roll right down the windshield when caught in a downpour.

I'm afraid to mix the Pledge and Rain-X, so have been washing the windshield first with a microfiber cloth and water with a small amount of soap...before putting on the Rain-X.

I've been a huge Rain-X advocate since spending a lot of time in helicopters back in the early 80's and that was the only thing the pilots would use.
