at times the cart will not more in reverse. we have tried to clean the contacts and it works some of the time. do we need a new part? can we install it ourself?

this is a club car, electric, 2002 or 2003 - also goes thru a set of breaks every year. we use the ccart for almost all travel so we do put a lot of miles on it. Tires wear out fast also, our front tires are going bald! this is the 2nd set in 4 years.

We have the bar that moves right for reverse and left for forward. Sometimes if you go forward a little it'll then go back; right now it is doing it all the time, can't get out of the garage without a push.
