Default Golf carts and multimodal paths

Interesting comments by Janet Tutt in this week's (Dec. 9, 2010) Recreation News. Specifically, these comments about golf carts and multimodal paths in TV:

"January also will be an important month for multimodal path users. On Jan. 22, a meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at Savannah Center. The meeting will be hosted by representatives of the Community Development Districts who are seeking input from residents about cart path issues: safety, signage, use, speed and any other comments you would like to share with them.

The Districts are interested in receiving your thoughts, ideas and suggestions.

In addition to the meeting, law enforcement from various agencies will be present to check — with amnesty — the speed capability of your golf carts.

It is both a safety and legal issue to have a cart exceed 19 mph. Get your questions answered by law enforcement and assure you are both safe and legal.

There also will be additional information available pertaining to the monthly cart clinic sponsored by Villages Homeowners Association.

Watch your postal facilities’ bulletin boards, the Daily and the District website, districtgov.org, for additional information. Don’t miss meeting.

However, if you cannot attend, your input still welcome. Just send your comments about the paths to me, janet.tutt@districtgov.org, or Eva Rey at eva.rey@districtgov.org."
