Default I need fog light relay installed

I recently installed fog lights on my cart and connected them to the dim side on my headlights via an electrical block. They worked temporarily and then melted the dashboard switch.

If there is anyone who knows how and is willing to install one for me connected to the dims, please respond. Or, can someone recommend anyone that can install one?

I think there is a man, if I can remember , Todd or Tim Casey. I don't have his number but go in the search box and I think you can locate him.

If you had both the headlights and the fog lights on at the same time I could see where there could be way too much current for a typical headlight switch. Before you just have a relay installed, make sure the supply wiring is sufficient for the load you are applying, otherwise you run the risk of the wire overheating and a possible fire.

Bottom line make sure whoever you get to work on your cart knows what they are doing. While I have not worked on golf carts, I have rebuilt 7 Mustangs (working on #8 now), and I almost lost one to a fire when a very heavy cable from the generator failed due to a shorted regulator. This version of the car did not have a fusible link, toasted the entire wiring harness at the front of the car. Most of the wiring I have seen so far on the golf carts will not support both headlights and fog lights at the same time, unless you have separate feeds from the battery or main fuse block.

Just my thoughts, hope this helps.

I don't know that much about golf cart lighting circuits but do they have a dim feature? The reason I ask is because my cart headlights don't dim.
