I'd like to customize my cart a bit. Was a thinking about adding some LED lights underneath and in the wheel wells. Maybe some LED running lights too...
Anyone know where to get such accessories or who might install these sorts of things... Thanks..... Mike |

Look for and at motorcycle websites. They are very popular with the biker crowd.

I think I read some ago herein that adding LED or other lights under a cart or in wheel wells was prohibited by Florida law.

Mike, check with Carts and Clubs in Ocala.....352-351-2278. I believe they sell and install them.
Not sure about what flies from a legality standpoint - colors, are you allowed to have them on while operating the cart, probably not allowed to have them flashing, etc. C & C should have the scoop on those kinds of things. Bill ![]() |

We pick up our new cart in September from The Villages Golf Cart Store - we ordered the lights. I'm sure The Villages would not add them if they were illegal.

Searched TOTV and there is a post about a sheriff deputy stating you can not have blue lights under or on the cart when it is moving. I can change color of my lights while moving so I guess I will stay away from Blue if I see a deputy.

Just had two white led bars installed under the carriage by TV golf cars today. Should have had one or two more. I assume that they wouldn't have installed them if they were illegal.

Red and blue lights are not legal on moving vehicles in most states because they are the colors used by the police, fire and first responders.

Go to "The Chrome Shop" Wildwood at I 75 and route 44. They have any lights concievable. You will have to install them yourself or have someone do it for you. I've been thinking about front turn signals since my cart, Yamaha, has signals that are almost worthless viewing from the front. The "Chrome shop" has a LED amber bar with 6 or 8 lights that I could mount on my roof that would really let anyone from the front know that I am turning. They have a full selection of lights, catering to 18 wheelers. A neat place to visit even if you don't buy anything.

Our neighbor has blue "highlighters" under their Gem Car. Were told by the local police that it was illegal and to turn them off. He had them connected to headlights so when headlights were on, these lights were as well.

I had LeD lights installed at the EZGO store in Palm Ridge Plaza. They are remote controlled and have a variety of colors that can be changed even while riding. They also can strobe and flash. According to the Sumter County Sheriff's office, you cannot ride in the street with either blue or red as they are emergency colors. However, you can park on the squares and have the red and blue strobe working.
