Lightbulb Looking to Upgrade my Club Car Batteries

I would appreciate any input on lithium batteries. These are the few local companies I found...

Bolt Battery Company Largo, FL.
Eco Batteries Saint George, UT.
E-Technologies Lab Batteries Venice, FL.
Skunk Works Battery Cookeville, TN.
U.S. Battery Corona, California.

I am trying to buy American.

I am not familiar with any of these battery suppliers, but you need make sure that you get a reliable installer that does the entire system, charger, motor controller, and batteries and has a warranty. As I recall there are a couple of local dealers that do these conversions, so I would contact them directly to see where their batteries come from.

I was told the controller doesn't need to be changed.

I love mine approaching one year and it was plug and play for my Ezgo. I self installed using online videos. Compared to the wet acids that were previously in it I wish I did it sooner.

My understanding the actual voltage of the new is slightly different from the old lead acid and this can be enough to cause problems with the original controller. So if you are considering doing this check to make sure the original controller will work with the new batteries.

I used B.E.S.T. Battery in Wildwood. Located in the industrial section south of Sparr. The batteries they installed were Bolt brand. Quality installation. With two 105 amp-hour hour Batteries I get about 1 mile/% of charge. 85 mile range. Their phone number is.(352) 640-1225.

Okay, thanks all for the input. Since posting, I did some due diligence, and it seems Trojan Lithium is a partnership between an Asian company and a US company.

Skunk Works seems to assemble its own batteries in Tennessee, but it looks like a small company just starting out.

E-Technologies Lab batteries are made in Venice, FL. I found some good info on their products and history. They started making battery packs for EVs back in 2009. On their website, they claim to have built the world's fastest electric drag car and battery pack.

Bolt Energy Batteries are also made in Florida and have a good reputation. Seems a little pricey, but very nice batteries. They claim to build their packs in Largo, FL.

Eco is another good company, but it is far away in Utah. I like their battery sizes and product, but I am looking to buy from a local company.

I am definitely staying away from Amazon batteries, too many horror stories. I am contacting Bolt Energy and E-Technologies for additional information. I will keep this thread updated.

Thank you, OTZ - full report, please, on not just the batteries but what else you needed and overall cost

There is a significant weight saving from T105 (8x62=492lbs) to the 105lb Bolt

LOL, you want it installed locally but the battery will ultimately be manufactured and shipped from somewhere else to the installer. I have heard good things about Eco but I wanted more run time and warranty. My Trojan came from California was professionally wrapped on a pallet delivered by a trucking firm and no issues to my front door. A local dealer wanted another ~$800 for the install. There are several places in and around the Villages that do installs of various brands and you will pay additional for that. Yes, stay away from the Amazon ones as most try to save money and in the end piece meal a fire waiting to happen.

Well here's another vote for best battery in Wildwood. They can do it all sell you a battery install you a battery completely revamp your cart, whatever you want. And they sell skunkworks which is the battery that I think is the best in the business. The guy that owns skunkworks is one of the most trusted names on any golf cart forum in the country. He's great to work with, stands behind his products, and will help with support any way he can. I believe the guy's name is Jake at B.E.S.T. battery. I would definitely talk to him before spending gobs of money. Lithium is the only way to go. Just my opinion

Well I think you will find that all of the battery cells come from China, period. It's the builders that are in the US that actually put everything together and stand behind their product. Again for me it's skunkworks, 5-year warranty, that's not prorated that's five full years replacement. I know I sound like a broken record, but they're the best in the business. JMO
