Two bills are being chaired regarding modifying an LSV to comply with golf cart speed requirements and thus eliminating the need to register it FL. Senate Bill 0071 and House Bill 0062 are currently going through committee review/approval. Great time to let our representatives know our support on these 2 pieces of legislation. Bills can be viewed @ The Florida Senate - The Florida Senate and www.myflhouse.gov sites if interested.

Not concerned with tax credits since I bought a used Tomberlin. I don't want to have to go through the hassle of registering and paying higher insurance premium if I can convert it to operate <20MPH. thanks!

really!!!! do you think that a lsv conversion would be a problem for speed....I would dare to say that well over 50% of golf carts now can exceed the "19.9" mph

The article in the Sun stated that there are around 5800 registered LSVs in the state of FL. Maybe half are in The Villages. If ten percent of The Village's LSVs want to convert to golf carts it would mean around 250 carts. (Anyone not in TV probably will keep their LSV because they don't have anywhere to drive a regular cart) The population of Florida is over 19 million. So our law makers are wasteing time on legislation that will only effect a couple hundred people out of 19 million and they wonder why citizens are disillusioned wiith government.

The real problem that should be addressed is why LSV insurance rates are so high. There is no way that insurance companies are experiencing losses that justify the current LSV insurance rates.
