We did open trailer, do not recommend open trailer as the lexan can get pretty scratched up and who knows where driving rain ends up. . .

I would tow it for the cost, if your vehicle can handle the tow weight.

I did the something similar a few years ago with a golf cart for my sister. U-Haul installed a hitch on my van. I had the cart shrink wrapped and pulled the cart in an open U-haul to Illinois. Easy peasy. Cost was minimal.
