Does any one have any info on Par Cars? Good or bad.
I would think those large wheels would make for a smooth ride. They sure look cool. |

I've had an electric Par Car for the past five years and I love it. (Fireboy drives a motorcycle). You can see the top of the curved seat in the picture, very comfortable seats. And my Par Car seems to go forever on one charge. I'm a huge fan of Columbia Par Cars.

We used to have a Par Car with the large wheels. The cart ran forever on a charge, however, it was the wrong size for me. I'm short and the cart eventually gave me some problems. The windshield split was right in my direct line of vision. The seat back was too far back. We did not have adjustable seats and over time, climbing up to the seat, driver or passenger, started giving my hips some pain. If you or your partner are on the shorter side, think about how climbing in and out may impact you. (The larger tires are indeed cool looking, I agree.)

When looking for a cart, I was leaning toward a Par Car. I talk to many who had one. About 1/2 loved them and the other half not so much. I do my own work and the only place to get parts is from Par Car. Also they stop making Gas carts several years ago. Test Drive the Yamaha, Club Car, EZGO and Par Car. Check out their service dept. reputation. Ask other brand cart owner what they like about their cart. Then make your choice

I agree about the looks. However, it's my opinion that the low profile tires used with the large wheels make for a harsher ride.

We are still "flipping coins"! But we did like the ride of the big wheel Par Car with the radial tires. One thing we want to check is the ease of getting clubs out of a golf bag on the big wheel Par Car. Didn't have them with us when we test drove them.

We purchased a 2012 ParCar in April and love it. The ride is very smooth and the seats very comfortable. My mom used to tell me I was "vertically challenged" so buying a cart with adjustable seats was on my wish list. The model we purchased has a tilt wheel which makes driving even easier. The other item we have is the self-watering system for the batteries. We make one connection to a tube on the batteries and distilled water goes wherever needed. Sure makes it easy to maintain.

Be careful buying carts with big tires. I know someone who put a "roll up" screen on their garage and the top of the cart hit. They had to change tires.

We have a 2012 Yamaha gas and a 2012 ParCar. The ParCar rides much better than the Yamaha and the headlights seem much brighter at night. There's no exhaust smell with the ParCar. The ParCar steers much harder and the brakes aren't as good as the Yamaha. The ParCar sits higher and you can notice the height difference when you are getting in and out of the cart. When driving the ParCar down the cart paths you have to avoid some low hanging tree branches because the roof is higher than the Yamaha. Also, I took the ParCar thru some of the tunnels near Nancy Lopez and you have to be careful because the roof of the cart will rub on top of the tunnel. Yep...........I did it but no damage.
I plug my ParCar in everytime I use it just like the ParCar sevice department told me to do. Don't have to drive the ParCar 3 miles to the gas station either. If I had it to do over again.........I'd own 2 ParCars. |
