Default Servicing a cart - how often?

I'd be interested to hear what people in TV do regarding having their golf carts serviced:

How often do you have your golf cart serviced - once a year or just when something goes wrong?

Who do you use - independent or manufacturer's agent (mine's an EZ-GO)?

Do they service at your home, or on their premises?

Thank you

We do preventive maintenance (PM) service once a year.

We bought a 2003 remanufactured in 2006 in Dec 2006 from Golf Cart Connection (GCC). We used them for all PMs while we were under their (then) 3-year warranty.

Once out of warranty, we contracted an excellent young man who used to work for GCC who now does business on his own (Club Car only). He comes to the house and does an extremely thorough clean, lube, test, check, adjust etc. We also call on him for any needed repairs between PM cycles.

We have Yamaha gas, and it requires only 1 annual service that presently costs $85. We take to TV Golg Car where we purchased as thye will pick-up at your door and provide a free loaner.

Is your cart gas or electric?

When I first purchased my 2008 electric EZGO cart from the EZGO factory store on 27/441, I called for service at 6 months and was told that there was nothing on it to really service. I also heard this from other 2008 EZGO owners.

Last spring, I heard about the software upgrades that were available and noticed that my tires were not wearing evenly. I took it to EZGO on 27/441 and was told that I should have the cart checked at least once a year. They would have put up any software upgrades and taken care of the front end alignment. Advantage had recently taken over the EZGO franchise and they had heard that the previous service people said that it did not need service but they were lying.

They put up the software upgrades, changed out my controller so I could get the full 19 mph, realigned the front end and rotated the tires for the cost of a service call.

So from now on I will be calling once a year for the annual service - ($80 - I think).

The only problem is that they do not do the service at the house like Cart World did. They need the cart for at least overnight so I have to schedule golf accordingly so I can be a rider and not the driver.

Default EZ-GO service

Thank you everyone

Mine is an electric - and quite old too, although I'm not sure of the exact build date

Z - do your service people pick and deliver the cart, or is their place golf cart accessible?

The place on 27/441 is pickup only. Town and Country in SS on Bichara services EZGO and is cart accessible.

I went to the one on 27/441 because it is close to home.
