What do you folks use to heat your electric golf cart
What do you folks use to heat your electric golf cart on those chilly mid-winter mornings.
I’ve seen the butane heaters than be placed in the cup holder, but the bottle needs to be replaced/refilled after about 9 hours of use. Then there’s the electric models that can work with a 48 volt system, but I’m worried that it would seriously shorten the effective range of the cart especially if used at night with the headlights on. Tell me about you experiences and opinions. If there’s a particular brand/model good or bad, would appreciate the name of the product. |

We use the small propane bottle heater in my wife's electric Yamaha. We found you may need to spend a little more and get one that has an adjustable temperature dial onit. Some are either on or off. Others have a swicth with multiple settings. The ones that only have one setting get awfully hot so you are constantly turning it on and off. The tanks are not that expensive and you only use them occassionally.

Without trying to disrupt the flow here, here are my methods:
1. Wear heavier clothes. 2. Put the curtains down. 3. Take my car. SWR

I keep a blanket onboard. We throw it over our legs on cold evenings. Just like a sleigh ride. <smile>

I love it!
If it weren't for the info at the bottom of their posts, I would think the 1st 3 posters were from South Florida or southern California!

we use the coleman golfcat, it has 2 heat settings and the propane bottles last for several weeks, of course you have to have all your sides down, or in our case the doors closed....gn

Be careful with those butane heaters. A neighbor put his a little too close to the windshield and it partially melted it! Had to replace the windshield for +/- $200. He said it was his wife's doing, but I'm not so sure!
