Seems to me they will have to have schedule more recall repair days than currently offered.

I'd just as soon do this myself. Would like to know if there's a detailed how-to video on YT and where I can procure the replacement spring.

Probably not on YouTube since it’s a factory repair. From looking over the tech’s shoulder it looked straightforward and easy. Getting the kit might be a bit more difficult.

- Pull up the floor mat
- Remove the cover by the pedals - mine wasn’t fastened in any way, it was just sitting there
- Look for the spring that pulls the accelerator back - that is the spring to be replaced
- The replacement is designed a bit differently to avoid the wear and stress problems but looked simple to install

Default This AM at Sumter Landing

I was in the recall mess this morning. I arrived at 8:30 AM. They said it would be a 3 hour wait and it was. Apparently people started lining up at 6:00 AM. They had 4 lines with several technicians working on each line. Even though they say they are open from 7 to 2 they closed the line at 11:00 AM. They said they will be doing this all summer long every 2 weeks. I heard many people saying that they were snowbirds and were getting this done before they leave for the season. Bring a book.

Yes............they will rotate each location until the demand ends.

They don't want to choke their maint shop.

They were definitely scanning serial numbers after they finished. My guess is as proof to Yahama that they completed the work.

another one for that spring? Mine 2012 1/2, guess they don’t build them like that use to?

From what I can see, it looks like this recall affects limited serial numbers on units built from 2016 to 2022.

I’d appreciate if someone would let me know if I’m wrong on this.

That info is available in a Google search. I won't trust this source for accurate info.
