Recall letter
The letter from the Villages Golf Cars says models through 2022, but the serial number list attached to it has 2023 serial's as included in the recall. No mention of 2024.

Hard to figure out just which carts are affected.

Is this just a spring or some sort of assembly? Can't find an image of it online.

Look into the hole in the floorboard at the spring that attaches to the accelerator. If it is attached with a bolt and nut then the cart is *probably* not affected while if the spring has a loop that goes through a hole in the pedal then it *might* be affected.

I got both of my carts through this morning (March 26) at Brownwood. Showed up at 0640 for my first cart and was done around 8am. Went home and got my wife's cart and returned just before 9am. Was complete by 1100. Not fun, but at least it's done. Very organized.

Post #60 has a link to a letter. The letter has a list of seven upcoming recall events. At each of the events there will be hundreds of kits being installed. Show up to any of them and you will be able to see the kit, the part number, and the installation process.

My golf cart gas pedal attachment looks similar to Topspinmo’s - is it the large spring that needs to be replaced? Replaced with what?

The recalled accelerator return spring has a loop on both ends that slips through small holes. Over time and use the loops can develop a grove that gets bigger over time and can eventually snap. If that happens, the accelerator pedal can get stuck down causing a potentially dangerous situation. The new spring is more heavy duty and is bolted into place rather than the previous attachment design. The fix is very easy/simple and appears to be designed to withstand a lifetime of use.

My 2022 QT has 5,200 miles and the old spring that was replaced was just starting to develop a very small grove that wasn’t an issue yet, but might have become a problem over many many more miles.

Got to Everglades at 6am today, I was 6th in line. They started early and I was gone at 7:10. The line was already at the maximum capacity sign.

Wonder what doing with old springs? I could use couple extra? For those that still driving be aware ready to cut ignition off then brake. Other wise the engine will pull pulling cart full throttle making it very hard to brake.
